Computer Tech Question

My laptop is hella slow, takes forever to startup, explorer takes like 1 min. to launch once it starts up, just lags....

Its a 1.3 ghz p3 dell so it should work a bit faster i would imagine. I just got done uninstalling tons of shit in there that I dont use but its still slow.

Is there some simple things I can do to speed it up? maybe a program out there that does it for me?

Plz help!~!! :helpme

adaware or spybot that fucker. Update virus definitions and scan.

run msconfig/startup and turn off shit that doesn't need to be running

try defraging it. also scandisk, might be some cross linked files

clean up your registry, defrag your disks, use partitions, etc

best thing though is to format c: and make a fresh install... then reinstall all your critical apps... make an image with ghost or something so you can use it next time...

perhaps try defragmenting it??
run spyware remove program??
upgrade the memory? (it's only $30-$40 now a days)

add some RAM, defragment, run a disk clean up utility. and when all else fail. back up all your files and format c: i know it sounds cliche now, but sometimes the best way is just to back up what you need and format everything you dont.
