Best free mass-image processing tool ?

Hi
I need to process a lot of images.
I need a tool that rotates pics, easylly correct ilumination problem and stuff like that.

Do you think that exists such tool on linux ? If not .. tell me which are the best on windows.

I just downloaded Quick E Pics yesterday to batch edit a few hundred photos... Works like a charm!
