does any one here have a maxtor external hard drive
 

man is it me or do all of these drives get this fucking hot , damn man , i not seen soem shit like this before .

Is there any one here that using this , if so please let me if yours as well gets hot like this , damn sure not what i like to keep on my desk near me :(

I got some.... I hate em.

i have one sitting right next to me and it radiates more heat then my heating system.

maxtor is crap, that is why i use lacie's now :)

thanks all , ya cassie my buddy was just here a hour ago and told me of the same thing said he love it , and just showed me the new 500 gig they have WOOOOHOOOYYYYYYYY

that is my new gift to my self soon , he said it i smaller and not a damn heat pad for the desk !:(

i want that 500 in the worst way but honestly it's too much $$$ and the 200's i have here aren't maxed out yet. that 500 is SWEET!

I got one I love it. I only plug it in when I use it for backups, usually once a week.

external drives are doorstops waiting to happen :2 cents:

my maxtor (internal HD) crashed two weeks ago :(

I have 2 x 250 GB drives and use them on both Firewire and USB-2 ... I never noticed they were getting very hot.

I have two, and they run fine.
One is a 50GB and the other is a 100GB. They're both in ADS cases.

Western Digital makes some External Hard Drives. We have 5-6 of them and they work great. Never get too hot either.

i got one 80gb internal 2 weeks ago

needless to say i havent managed to make properly recognize the disk

also you can cook food on it. It's so fucking hot i'm getting the impression it will melt

WD sucks too. I just came from a WD crash.

which HD do you guys recommend?
