Do you tell your parents you Love Them?

Well, do ya?

I tell my mom & dad every time we talk on the phone.

Some people think it's odd.

I don't.

freeadultcontent 08-09-2003 10:31 PM

Yeah, I feel kinda akward and do not know what else to say when Dad rolls off of me.

Joe Average 08-09-2003 10:31 PM

Never.

Occasionally, but I hate the mush.

One of the most difficult things in the world to come to terms with is when your parents die. My dad died suddenly in 1987. Didn't get to say goodbye. I had talked to him that week fortunately, and I always ended my call to him with I love ya dad. 16 years have passed now and I've yet to find a way to heal that part of my heart. Its like an emptiness that just never goes away.

Sometimes I look at pictures of him and I together when I was growing up and the tears will just come streaming out. I dream of him all the time and I sense the presence of his spirit around me often.

So always tell your folks how much you love them and that you appreciate all they did for you growing up. Cause you never know when it might be your last words together.

i've been doing a lot for my parents the past couple of years. going the extra mile for them - i certainly am not looking forward to the day my father dies... i think about it fairly often now.

Oracle Porn 08-10-2003 12:31 AM

Sorry I don't lie to my parents

Never met my dad and saying I Love You to my mom is like kissing a cactus.

Fuck em both.

TheJimmy 08-10-2003 01:22 AM

sure do, but not often enough....

i tell them both i love them, EVERY time we speak.

Mutt 08-10-2003 01:28 AM

same here. my world is completely different since my dad passed away 5 years ago. barely an hour goes by when i don't think about him for a brief moment. freaks me out sometimes, i still can't believe he's not somewhere out there.

we're not a mushy demonstrative family but everybody knows they are loved no matter how dysfunctional it all is.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 08-10-2003 01:30 AM

all the time. the hope that they'll hear me from the afterlife is the only thing that keeps me from being a complete athiest.

j3ff 08-10-2003 01:45 AM

I tell my mom everyday.

media 08-10-2003 04:47 AM

I owe my life to my parents and my wife.. they helped me change my life around.. I would be serving 4-10 in vacaville youth authority by now if they had'nt..

So you bet your ass I tell my parents I love them..

I got TUFF LOVE on my knuckles as a daily reminder of what my parents did for me..

As often as possible (every phone call, every visit), as well as a big bear hug and a kiss.
It just about killed me when my grandmother died - I don't even want to think about life without my parents in it.

I know how you feel, and your absolutely right.

You never appreciate something you have, until it's gone :(

Corleone 08-10-2003 04:59 AM

its no shame to say i love you.
