New Online Payment System

Ok, I want to know the honest view of webmasters to my friends new site. He has put a lot of effort into it, and it is quite a legitimate and trustworthy guy - so let me know what you think of it.

The site is foud at SolarPay , and it works simlar to stormpay. You can fund your account by Paypal, Credit Card, Deposit from Bank Account, E-Gold, NetPay and Regular Mail. Currently you can withdraw money via wire, regular mail, or with a solarpay mastercard.

Now, he is currently working on scripting a subscription and shopping cart system that will function exactly like paypal and allows adult transactions. This site also has around 1000 members so far.

So basically, I am wondering what you think of it? Does it look good? Would you consider using it? What could be made to improve it? Are there already too many sites like this? And anything else you might want to add.

Personally, I realise there are a few of these sites already floating around. But what would really make you use such a site? Is it trust? Do you need time to see that it is legitimate? Or are some valuable features missing that you would like?

Anyway, all feedback is welcome - I will pass it on to my friend.

no good!!!
after Paypal died it will most likely take years till systems like that are any good again.
Most need meens of payment that everybody uses and for now that is visa/mastercard.

The system itself can be good, but if only 1% of my clients uses it im fucked and so are they.

What about for webmaster sites though, ie content sites? I have read that epassporte is a run around, and some people dislike stormpay for various reasons (not sure what they are exactly) so is there a market there?

Offcourse getting such a site mainstream so it is viable for the webmaster to use it to sell subscriptions on his site is, like you said, going to take years. But from a webmaster to webmaster point of view, would you use such a thing?

The site looks nice, and its a good idea, but it suffers some problems.

1. You should post the rates where they are easily found on the home page. Not posting them makes it look like you are hiding something.

2. Most people would assume that by accepting adult, mlm, email programs, etc. you will loose Visa or merchant account or both very soon.

Its the dog wagging the tail problem. Untill you are large and well known, nobody would want to sign up.

Good luck, though.

I have not looked at the site before writting this though I will be as its another company in the market as I see it and I need to understand what you are doing etc.

I work for Nochex.com we provide a service which allows UK Debit Card Holders to make payments in realtime online.

It was with the news of Paypal deciding not to service the adult market we turned our attentions to it. I want to make one thing clear, I have been at it for 6 months now and if I am honest am still finding things difficult in assuring UK Webmasters we are not only here to stay but that we also will not discriminate against them.

Nochex offers this to webmasters;

Processing at 1%
Garauteed Payments
No Risk of Chargebacks
Free Listings - http://www.nochex.com/highstreet/adult/
No Set Up Fee
No Annual Fees

This week I managed finally to bring on board a guy that runs spanking sites and he mailed me to say he picked up business from people who would not use their Credit Card to buy online.

The point I am trying to make or advice I am giving you is that you need to give something to the webmasters in return you will get their business and hopefully their trust.

Payment processing is an issue for people at the moment though you have to add value to the webmasters not just process payments.

For example, we have 500,000 UK users, they can only spend with UK owned sites, if they were able to also hook into your system like Paypal etc then you would add value to Nochex and we could add value to your company.

$68.95 + $4.95 shipping for a debit card? Kinda pricey... wouldn't ya say?

There is your problem, it's our money that you are using to run your business and you want to charge us $74 so we can get hold of it, then a charge to take it out of an ATM, then a charge to use your system, do you charge the user to deposit money?

This is the problem with Epassporte, they act like we need them more than they need us.

Make your system user friendly, get the lad who delivers the mail to test it, make it honest and make it cheap. Then you will find people flooding to you and making the money Paypal made.

The problems of the "Paypal imitations" is they think every one will flood to them because of Paypal pulled out of this market. It has not happened, Epassporte suck for us. Webmasters do not want to use them.
