Kevin Blatt Goes To Heaven
I phone Kevin Blatt Thursday afternoon, August 21.
Kevin: "I'm going to Heaven." DUC: "What happened?" Kevin: "I did a mitzvah [divine obligation]. I can not believe the phone call I just got. "Saturday I was on my way up to the Holio party in the Valley. I went to see my brother (D$). I left his house. I went down Lassen Blvd to Winnetka. It's 5PM. I was going to Woodland Hills. "I'm driving southbound on Winnetka. There's a FordF150 parallel to me. We're going about 50mph. We have a green light. All of a sudden, a car full of Mexicans pulls out of nowhere and takes a left on Prairie. Close to Metro Home Video. "She never saw them and hit them (white Toyota Corolla) dead-on. I've never seen a car accident like that happen in front of me before. It was the most devastating thing I've ever seen in my life. A bumper flew over my car. There were seven little Mexicans in the car. I thought they were all dead." http://www.setgo.com/article.html?id...a6a970c9991a5f |

My friend sent this email to me the other day:
Hi girls, How is everyone doing? I have to say that things have definetely been better for me but I am just grateful to be alive. On Monday I was heading back to Binghamton to go to work after coming home to Warsaw for the weekend. I was on the 390 a little past Dansville and it was raining and I hit a puddle or something and hydroplaned and from there did not have a second to think. My car flew across the road and then flipped over twice before finally stopping on the side of the road upright and facing the complete opposite way. I didn't pass out or anything but when I think about all's I really can remember is when it first flipped to the side my head hitting the window and seeing the windshield crashing and just thinking this is it i'm going to die. It was the absolute scariest moment of my life. But someone or something was looking out for me because I don't even have any serious injuries. My car is completely totalled, every single window including the sun roof exploded on it. There was a truck driver and a older couple in a car behind me who saw the whole thing and said that they were terrified to come look in the car because they were sure I would be dead. I had to wait and get carried out by the ambulance and get Xrays and catscans and all that stuff. But really all that happened was that my left arm is cut up and bruised and the left side of my head was puffed up and very sore. Tuesday I was terribly sore and could barely move but today I feel almost completely better! So now that I am safe and healthy real life is setting in and I have no car, no money and no medical insurance! But hopefully my car insurance is going to atleast cover my car loan so I can start over. But anyways I am happy to be here and be able to worry about things like this. I hope that everyone else is doing wonderful. And in two days I will have my cute new little puppy to cheer me up! Talk to everyone later Steph Makes ya think about car accidents a little bit more... |
Glad to see that story Kristen-
I hope I never have to see anything like that again- and to most people who thought I was a little "off" the night of the Holio party I was just a little shaken up from seeing this atrocity- I hope if anyone of you ever are in a similar situation , you'd stop too- I have been in car wrecks in ice storms where no one stopped for me and know what it feels like to be helpless.. Kind of embarrassed luke actually printed it- but it was the most truthful thing he has ever published :-)) |
