pure crap dont do it unless u have absolutely no choice.

they limit the amount you can dl per day (140 mb roughly)

its slow as hell or non existent during bad weather

its expensive ($70/month)

you have to have a year contract

the dual way equipment is about $300

single way equipment requires a modem acct as well as sat, so even more $ and slow as balls up.

dsl came available in my neighborhood 6 weeks after i signed up and i ended up hating the satellite deal so much that I immediately got dsl and just ate the $70 a month. Cant wait until dec when that crap ends.

They now , or did..have a dish..where you could do something called 'bird in the wire' or some such idiot terminology...and that way you only need one dish.

But, save yourself if you can. DirecPC is a nightmare extraordinaire. Between the proxy server causing problems..them capping downloads over 50 megs.....and their piss poor customer service...the one thing I was truly glad about them was getting rid of their pathetic asses.

My experience?

:BangBang: To sum it up, wish I had cable, dsl, or wifi. You will never get the speed they promise. Uploading: most of the time it is slower than an 8k modem. Downloading: it is more like 100k to 150k. Never the 640k/120k they promise, trust me.

Right now I am cursing this thing again.

You can combine TV and Internet using a direcDUO.

You can find all the info you need here:
http://www.direcway.com/

You can also go here and just read the horrow stories:

I use Starband with Dish Network and it's all in 1 dish. I like the service myself, and I havn't had problems with it really unless there is like really heavy rain.
