eBay fucking sucks

I know some of you guys who do adult also do ebay, dunno how the fuck you do it.

I sell my 21" IBM trinitron monitor on ebay yesterday. Guy does buy it now for $200 . He lives locally so he comes by to pick it up. I even let him look at the picture and everything first cuz i'm an honest guy and all that, its a quality monitor.

He gives me cash, I give him a receipt, yadda we shake hands, all is well.

He emails me this morning saying there are "2 lines on the monitor that are driving him nuts." I'm at a loss, can't figure it out. A few emails later I realize he is talking about the TRINITRON GRILLE lines, and that he wants his fucking money back.

Some people need to be drop kicked to the head, no idea how you guys who eBay professionally deal with these morons.

What should I do with this dumb ass?

B40 08-24-2003 01:32 PM

That's standard on all CRT's. Tell him he got what he paid for, his argument will go nowhere with eBay.

Give him a good ole :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY

Yah its a done deal.. tell him to go to the store and look at other monitors.. to see its the same

jasonir 08-24-2003 01:36 PM

"Damper wires are visible on Trinitron monitor displays. You may notice one or more fine horizontal lines on your monitor display, particularly on screens with white backgrounds. Larger monitors have two lines; smaller monitors have one line in the bottom third of the screen. These lines are normal and part of the monitor technology.

The damper wires are used to stabilize the vertically striped aperture grill. This aperture grill design allows more light to pass through to the screen, giving the Trinitron CRT more vibrant color and brightness"

There should be two, and they shouldn't be too noticable.

Yes, i'm a dumbass. I admit to that on this. Yeah im sorta worried he'll come by and just plop the thing on my door step.

I pack plenty of firepower so i'm not too concerned about THAT part of it. However, I am just absolutely amazed at how dumb this guy is.

I even hooked up my laptop to it for him to inspect the monitor before he gave me the cash, even after he did buy it now on ebay. Thats what a nice guy I am... and now he wants his cash back.

not with all CRT's, only flat screen CRT's ... thats indeed the trinitron "technology" ... the guy that bought that from you is a total dumbass .. it takes about 1 week to not see the lines anymore

This is why I quit selling on ebay. I was making enough cash to make it worthwile but I had to deal with hundreds of these fucks every single week. I would only get back into it with a full fledge oporation including employess for customer service and the works. Fucking ebay buyers. :feels-hot

Same here. We had a huge eBay business at one point but it got to the point where it seemed like eBay was making the bidders take retard pills as part of the registration process. It just wasn't worth the headaches.

Now the old eBay, prior to about 2000 or so, kicked ass.

ebay does suck-the customers are so annoying-as for your deal, if you let him know where you live that was a big error-now you must return his $ or he'll annoy the shit out of ya:(

I'm actually moving out of state in about a week or so so that isn't my concern... hehe.. which is why I was selling the monstrous 21" 70lb monitor in the first place....

Tell him to fuck off. You aren't Best Buy and he looked at it before he paid you.

High Quality 08-24-2003 02:22 PM

Ok, here is his reply to my kind refusal to take it back...

Quote:

dude give me my money back you never stated in the
auction that there where two lines in this monitor i
was nice enough to offer you 20 bucks for the selling
fee and if you look next to the item you sold there is
a relist option. Now im trying to be nice about this
and so should you.
Here is the ebay listing title:

21" IBM P202 TRINITRON - PERFECT CONDITION

Its even in the title of the auction.

I am simply amazed that someone buys something that they have no clue about.

ALL TRINITRONS HAVE GRILLE LINES YOU FUCKING MORON.

amjhill 08-24-2003 02:24 PM

Iv'e sold things on e-bay, and came up with lots of these fuck-wits.

twistyneck 08-24-2003 02:24 PM

You could also tell him to just sell it himself. Let him use your ad and picture, no big deal. The problem of course is that he is probably too retarded to list an item but it is worth a try.

Whatever you do, don't give him his money back.

I already suggested this to him. I could totally list all the emails we've exchanged, its quite funny.

But yes, I think he is too much of a dolt to realize he could sell it for the same price I sold it to him for on ebay.

Sounds like this guy is hopeless. Tell him firmly that it's a done deal, he inspected it before he paid, and that if he continues to harrass you, you'll report him to eBay. The eBay threat is really pretty hollow but it is enough to scare fuckwits like this into submission.

SMG 08-24-2003 02:36 PM

I'd just tell him to :321GFY the worst he can do is negative feedback, which is unwarranted meaning you can leave him negative feedback in response ... and I'd tell him that ahead of time too

funny thing is, he already left me positive feedback like 3 hours after he picked up the monitor.

Great, now you are in control. Tell him that it's a done deal and that you are going to leave negative feedback if he continues to be a dumbass.

Sweet. This is a total no-brainer then. Tell him in no uncertain terms to fuck off and die. Leave him a neg while you are at it.

escorpio 08-24-2003 04:10 PM

Ebay is full of idiot buyers and scammer sellers and run by a bunch of greedy assholes who could give a fuck. I can't remember the last time I bought or sold on Ebay and I used to do it all the time. It just got to be a total pain in the ass.

Fuck Ebay. Fuck them up their stupid asses.:BangBang:

Strife 08-24-2003 06:36 PM

you really blame that kind of shit on ebay...just on the individuals that are morons

AdultNex 08-24-2003 06:39 PM

Tell him to keep the monitor for 30 more days... Trust me, he will forget that the grille lines are even there.

You only have to get used to them, then they will be invisible (unless you're looking at a webpage on a clean white bground).

iroc409 08-24-2003 07:11 PM

those lines you see are NOT standard on any monitor other than the trinitron tube. and it's not on all flat screens.

the reason so many monitors do have these lines, is because they are actual trinitron tubes.

sony sells them, or the tubes that don't meet sony's requirements off the lines are sent to other mfr's :)
