Car Audio Question....
 

Upgrading a car stereo, someone in here probably knows whats what...

I think I'm probably going to go with a Pioneer DEH-7400MP deck (supports MP3, cool animated display, about $230)

But I'm not sure what speakers to go with.... they are 6.5" round.

This is just for everyday listening - no audiophiles or anything, no subwoofers... but would like to hear your opinions.

The other thing is the speakers probably shouldn't be component systems (with separate tweeters & crossover)... I don't want to mess around like that really. Just want to swap out whats there & have it look as stock as possible.

Well, You could get an amp with a crossover built in.

go with infinity's, the rock's are good, but the infinity's are much cleaner and crisper

Not you.. but in general..I think its sad how the cars "RIMS" or "Sound System" is actualy worth more then the car..

Don't want to mess with AMP's or anything like that...

I'm just wanting to replace a stock system in a Honda.

I don't mind the crossovers or whatever those things are if they are small like that & the tweets aren't separate... I just want everything to mount in the stock speaker hole.

Hahahaha. That's a big kick. I got two 12" Eclipse subs and two 500 watt Memphis Audio D-class amps in my car. I have four 6.5" Cerwin Vega midrange speaks, and they deliver some of the highest quality sound I think I've ever heard in a car.

I woudn't go with Rockford Fosgate if I were you, they pretty much blow goats now.

Those alpine type r's are complete crap. I had those in one of my rides and couldn't stand them.

Replaced em with infinity kappa's and now it sounds awesome.

MB Quart, Boston's, Premiers or Infinities will all make your car sound like a million bucks. :thumbsup

I don't know shit about car audio. But I just put a system in my car and I can't seem to blow the speakers. I can make it so loud that it physically hurts your bones, and the damn thing still won't blow.
