Many things.... I'll try to keep it brief.

Driven. Dangerously intelligent. A thinker to the core. Beyond fair, very understanding, diligent, generous, patient, forgiving, a good friend, and generally an all around good guy. He knows what he wants, and he knows how to get there. Anyone that knows him personally knows these things are true. He is more than worthy of respect and admiration. Very few people fall into that category.

I knew this from a week of lurking and investigation in 2001. It's not hard to see if you open your eyes. I'm glad I've gotten to know him better, on a business as well as a personal level, and I hope it continues for years to come.

Now.... plenty of you will start in with the "sucking ass" comments. That's fine, and I expect it. But I only recently went to work with Adult, and believe me, this type of shit isn't going to "advance" me in the least. Not to mention, like I said, I've held these views since my first week as a lurker back in '01.

Bone is also a good guy. Very misunderstood by many.... but definately solid. Quite mysterious most of the time, but I can relate. Bone is a guy that will go to bat for you and then some. Very even tempered and level headed. Which is often more than I can claim. Bone will succeed in anything he does.

From what I know, (which isn't much), you seem like a very salt-of-the-earth kinda guy. Which is what I used to be, on a hardcore level. Everything is face value for you. What do you think of mainstream webmasters?

Are they foolishly blinded and deceived by their own morals/and the precedent set forth by society? Or smart dudes in general, and it their on prerogative forgoing the potential in the adult industry?

If you say smart - How is bypassing a far greener pasture an educated move. Correct me if I am wrong, but in any business/and or web developer you're obligated to yourself to make as much money possible. Comes down to one thing, profit. Not pick and choose an industry you most prefer. Shit, I love television, but I am not dedicating my time to developing an entertainment site. Why? They command some of the lowest CPM (advertising) revenues on the Net.

A tragic story indeed. Marvin is so hopelessy disillusioned, he is unable to see the reality presented in front of him. This is a man who burst into the adult scene with very little experience, and took the approach that the world owes him an ass-kissing. When he didn't get it, he took the fatal direction of turning against the very industry he sought to seduce. He is unequipped to handle the job he took on, and he irrationally inflated ego prevents him from the will or ability to learn.

Summary: The Viper is self-doomed to forever be less than a footnote in this biz. His work is sub-par, and his attitude is horrendous. The perfect formula for failure.

Hungryman is in many ways, worse off than The Viper. Hungryman is a sham. Plain and simple. He has never had any talent, and he never will. Combine that with the utter absence of work ethic, complete lack of responsibility for his own actions, and zero conscience regarding anything, and you have a grown man riding on the backs of many, scraping a dollar from the gutter every month to pay his rent, and without concern for where that buck comes from.

Hungryman is destined to prey on others for his own survival. If left to his own devices, he will fail at everything. In the meantime, he's only inflicting pain upon new victims of his needs every day.

LOL.... I'm sure you know Snow and I don't have the greatest of history together. That said, I do think Snow is a good man.... he just has a tendancy to overextend himself. We're all looking for that big piece of cheesecake.... Snow is able to see it, and he likes to go for it. That's what it takes. You don't always get the prize, but going for it is the first step. Plenty of people never do.

I've had my differences with Snow in the past, but it was all just business. Whether he holds a grudge because of it or not, I don't really know. Only met him once, but he did seem like a decent guy. Just needs to focus and know when something is beyond grasp and when it's primetime.

I think Brad is probably at least fairly smart. Smarter than he let's on anyway. I don't really know him, and I've never met him, so it's hard to really pin it down. But he's obviously very business oriented and money hungry. That's not to say that's a bad thing. But I also think he's very insecure, and tends to inflate himself. He seeks approval from people he doesn't need approval from. When he doesn't get it, he is upset. I also think Brad is very sensitive. He likes to play the games, but he is a sore loser and is the kind of guy that will take his ball and go home if he doesn't win.

Brad needs therapy or something. He's a grown man operating with a two year old demeanor. Notice I did not say "brain".... Brad, (I think) is intelligent about business.... he's just extremely bad at social interaction.

ok that's AMP thread,but i'll disagree. Mainstream = lots of $$ if done properly. To get a figure, overture's average pay per click cost the last monthes was 0.40cents. Mainstream co. can afford on average about 3 times more to spend. More than few online industries do figures larger than porn. Additionally mainstream is expanding day after day. Can you say the same for porn? I'm afraid not.

hmmm..... well, since this is kind of a unique critique, I'm going to give two perspectives, being that I know both sides.

1: Online.

I am VERY misunderstood. Secretive, abusive, fair, honest, happy-go-lucky (sometimes), cranky (sometimes),..... hmmm..... this sucks you know.

I tend to be more extroverted than I really am.... because in this medium, I can. In real life, I'm not. Most everything I do is done in the spirit of enticing conversation. Whether it's something good, bad, bullshit, or whatever.... whether it's about me, or in reply to someone else, or even a flame thread. That doesn;t mean it's all pure fabrication. Most things I post are BASED on real life things or real life reactions.... some are actual reactions. I treat my online persona as I would if I had gone into the broadcasting industry. I went to college for broadcasting, but radio was not where I ultimately wanted to go.... everything about the field is my passion, except the business/corporate side of it. So I apply everything I learned to what I do now. When you read an "Amputate Your Head" post, you're reading a radio show. And just like a radio show, some of it is based on real life, and some of it is utter nonsense..... if you can't tell the difference, then I'm doing it right.

2. Real World.

I am nothing like what you see here. Yes, the pictures are me. Yes, the pics of my house are mine. But who I am, is not "Amputate Your Head". I'm not a drunk. I don't seek attention. I don't have an attitude with the whole world. I'm not insane or on medication. I'm not a psycho. I don't party all night long. The county does not come and put me in a straitjacket every night so I won't hurt myself. I'm very shy, I don't talk much at all, and I leave the online half behind when I get up from the screen. I have a life. I go shopping at Home Depot like everyone else. I painted my bathroom last weekend. I am able to separate "show" from real world.

Summary: I'm misunderstood in both worlds. Those who know me personally, know what I mean. Those that don't.....

Advertising/marketing, as per the demand displayed of bids on Overture is hardly a relative comparison between both industries. Yes, 'hosting' in example, brings in an average of $1.00-$3.00 per click via Google adsense as a publisher. Nice figure right? Well, how many are actually targeted? How many prospective customers will click? Convert? We're talking about a select, niche group. A wealthy group of business men for the most part. Purchasing hosting for a website. How many people are webmasters/own businesses looking for hosting? We're talking about segregating the majority of people here. Contrary to what you would think, not many are webmasters. Now, what is the prerequisite for a porn purchaser? None. Any female, male, or pirate (hey lets not discriminate) can be interested and eligible to purchase porn. Thus with this demand, and such competitive saturation, the bids must reflect accordingly. If we had $3.00 bids keyword terms such as "sex", advertisers would flush out months of marketing revenue in a single day!

I used to be a mainstreamer. It's a whole different game. Most mainstreamers don't even see adult. They're oblivious to it. There's big money in mainstream..... it's just a lot harder to nail down. CEO's can be a major pain in the ass. Mainstream & Adult are two completely different ballgames. What works in mainstream rarely translates to adult. Sure, the principles are the same, but very few are in tune enough to maintain principles and make the adjustment to their tactics. Only those completely in touch with Strategy & Tactics are able to make such a crossing. Many simply do not have that foundation. Skill? Sure.... skill is a factor.... but if you don;t have the basics down, skill means jack.

To answer your question though, I think most mainstreamers simply don't even acknowledge the adult world.
