I was checking my hosts file because i wanted to test something. I opened it and noticed that something had changed just about every search engine over to a rackshack box. Im sure that google and msn don't use the same box and not in rackshack either.

damn, i had the same in my host file

get a decent firewall: blackice, norton or even the crappy one in xp would be better than nothing.

make your hosts file READ-ONLY

It is a more than half-year old exploit that do this.
Keep your Windows updated with all new patches. And don't surf CJs that are run by Russians. Some of them love to use this shit. Actually, some teen cjs are overstuffed with different shit that autobookmarks, stuff the favourites with shitty links, changes HOSTS file, sets up trojans etc. Very hard to clean it up then.
