Fox News viewers most likely to be misinformed
http://www.philly.com/images/realcit...7946393308.gif
80 percent of those who said they relied on Fox News and 71 percent of those who said they relied on CBS believed at least one of the three misperceptions. http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/new...aq/6918170.htm :1orglaugh |
Fox News = Jerry Springer (more or less).
|
The real reason they're mis-guided is because they've been trained to blindly follow anyone with the title of "President". I've heard a ton of people say "well, he knows what he's doing... Bush has access to more information than we have, so he definitely has the evidence that would justify blowing up 3rd world countries." HA, and now we find out none such evidence exists. Funny shit.

theking watches Fox doesn't he?

If you watch Fox News and take that shit seriously you are a moron and deserve to be shot.
I only watch Fox News for amusement, I'm amazed at how people can look in the camera and talk total fucking bullshit and than claim to be "Fair and Balanced". Watching the Fox News for News is like watching the Comedy Channel or MTV for News. FUCK FOX News! Great source of news: http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/ |
It's never good to mislead people.. they find out sooner or later

Yeah the people find out eventually and get pissed.
Well all accept American's. American people just sit and let the government keep taking what it wants. Including our voices. |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What a big fucking surprise! It's simply the worst kind of news I've ever seen. Lowest denominator of television. Pathetic. And so are those who watch it (unless you're just having a laugh! :)). |

i see DEBATES where people from BOTH SIDES debate those very subjects. almost daily on each show its mentions how the weapons havent been found YET and there are no ties found to binladen. thats the only bullshit the liberals trying to defend their stance can push. :321GFY again |
Are the debates before or after Jerry Springer re-runs?
|
Amazing.

It was so laughable and infotainment at its worst. It is pathetic. "Showdown in Iraq!!" I still remember the Jerry Springer headline scrolling through all the time. It is moron TV. Just found something even more scary.... According to this poll: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/...in576340.shtml "83 percent of those whites who consider themselves a member of the religious right approve of the overall job the president is doing, compared to half - 52 percent - of white Americans who do not consider themselves part of the religious right." 48% of white Americans are religious?!?!?!!?!?! I think that's a clear sign of US education level. No other western country will have same percentage of religious lemmings. |

Fox News is crap. At least BBC news had the objectivity to report both sides of the story. And not portrait it as Good vs. Evil. Right vs Wrong. "Showdown in Iraq!" - not biased? |

Fox News is your news shrine. I think that poll just about tells you everything about Fox News. And it's an American poll. Imagine what the rest of the world thinks (I know, I know - you don't give a fuck about the rest of the world). "Showdown in Iraq" implies revenge and is biased. I'm sure I'd feel the exact same way if my country was attacked. Hell, I dislike Muslim Arabs VERY much. Bomb the whole region and finish off the cancer cell of the world. But I'm not a News Agency - I don't have to keep objectivity. Fox News is pathetic. |

It will be fun to watch Fox change when Bush is out of office. Fox was not always the mouth piece of the neocon movement. Faaar from it. You expect the people who bring you COPS and Worlds Wildest Police Chases to give you accurate news and information?
Fox stepped in to fill a niche. What were Fox's rating before 9-11? Jack shit. Fox was just the first to tap into kneejerk reactionary wasp mentality. If the country all of a sudden swung to the left, Fox would be all over it. Fox has always appealed to the lowest common denominator, and can you get any lower than your typical high school educated flag waver? Where else can you get your daily dose of Springer and then get your news dished out to you in a manner that even your 10th grade ass can understand it? Fox makes it easy for the average American to understand politics, it does not use big words and long dialectics that would bore and insult your average American. Fox is to news what GFY is to this industry. A niche filler. Where newbs and idiots are not welcome anywhere else, they are welcome here. Why? Impressions = $$$ regardless of the quality of the impressions. Advertisers see big numbers on Fox so Fox will keep giving the simple minded what they want. It is a brilliant niche really. Make the news simple and flashy enough to hold the attention of the average American. Dont make it complicated, but rather make it so it is easy to follow. There is nothing an idiot likes more than feeling like he is informed. Like their slogan states, "we report, you decide". Make the idiot feel important, he likes that. Great idea, you give Billy Joe and Scooter the neocon simple minded approach and let him decide? Great idea. Could you image news that was filled with experts in their respective fields having hours long roundtable discussions involving the historical and economic implications and backgrounds of foreign policy? Yeah right, I bet most of you were asleep before you even got to the end of that sentence. Fox is programming for idiots, always has been always will be. Like a fad, they will come and go. Just sit back and laugh at them while you have the chance. While they sit around feeling smart and blubbering out the new buzzwords for the week they picked up from Fox. These people have been dupes to the culture industry their whole lives, they are without hope. |

I'm sorry, unlike US I don't believe political beliefs of a country can be expressed in only 2 political parties. Hell, I'm as rightwing as they come in my country. Just keep out religion, and keep out the candy floss news manipulation and we probably have the same beliefs. |

go watch your BBC and CNN where they show what they want you to see. michael moore should have a show on those channels. he brings in the people that ONLY push his view points without expressing them himself, then asks them BS questions, and acts like he learns something from it and agrees. :321GFY idiot |

And why do you never see US casualties? Yet Iraq casualties get shown again and again? Nono, objectivity is key here! Watch Fox News to get it. Actually I remember CNN having same position. I guess they're not an international news agency anyway? If you're a true news agency you report EVERYTHING. No filters. As soon as you start filtering away certain reports for morale issues you lose your credibility. You are no longer un-biased = not worth watching. |
i need to stop spending so much time here debating 35 yearold idiots who still live in the parents house and depend on CNN to give them all the facts. I know fox is biased to a point, but they put a good effert in to create debates with people from boths sides of issues, rather than CNN with its two fucktard liberals agreeing with each other while giving eachother handjobs just off camera. :321GFY

We can tell you watch a lot of Fox, you manage to work in CNN, liberals, and Michael Moore into your brain farts. As if there are only two ways of thinking, left and right. All of it as a result of Fox. I would know, I watch hours of it a day as well. I would be surprised if you could name off any other lefties or so called leftist news institutions other than the ones you keep rambling about. Man the Fox toilet goes right from the toilet straight to your brain doesn't it? Might I suggest you try something rather radical? Hear me out, it will probably be rather difficult for you. When presented with an issue, instead of just eating Sean Hannity's semen soaked words, go fire up your AOL browser and search for alternative viewpoints. Go get the left view from the source, go find out what a Marxist thinks about the particular subject, go find out what the extreme right thinks about it, find out the Wiccan position, anyone and everyone with a position. Here comes the hard part, when you have a general idea of what everyone else thinks, find some books. Preferably apolitical historical sources and read about it yourself. Then, and only then, can you say you have a "fair and balanced" opinion on a subject. But that would require turning off the tv and a little effort. Perhaps you will find the world is not so black and white, right and left. I bet you are 17. |

News is there to inform, not entertain. "Showdown In Iraq" is the WWF of news reporting. If you can't see that, there's no hope for you dopey. |

I'm actually starting to pity you. |
the modern liberal mind is a very scary thing. Have you ever even watched fox news or do you just base your opinion on a fat slob in a baseball hat and a frakenstein looking out of work comedy writer tell you.
Lets interpret these statistics, and for arguments sake assume they are valid. Look who is last NPR. aka far left radio network. Its 24 hours of Mr. Fiction types who sit around telling their conpiracy theories and bashing the current admin. So of course anyone that listens to that would be least likely to believe anything that would help the current admin. CBS, NBC, ABC are so far left that anything towards the right seems way right in comparison. You guys have total control of the media. Cant there be a conservative viewpoint also. Are you afraid of giving the right a voice. If you have a stick up your ass about bill oreily and sean hannity, tough shit. The same network also has diehard liberals like geraldo and allan combs. And Gloria Van Sustren stays middle of the road. |
