Aly-Python 10-04-2003 12:09 AM

You can jump between the Venetian, Mirage or Treasure Island. The Venetian's more convenient, but the walk across the street won't kill you. There's even a walkway between the Venetian and Treasure Island. ...or you could do like the rest of us and just never sleep. :glugglug ...You're welcome to store you toothbrush in my room. :Graucho

NaughtyJenn 10-04-2003 12:11 AM

lol.. just thinking prices right now

Keev 10-04-2003 12:13 AM

Well Treasure island is dierctly across the street, Harrahs is about 400 yards from Ventitian, anda couple others that are above avg & in short walking distance.

the Shemp 10-04-2003 12:16 AM

If the Venetien is within your budget, i would recommend it.
good resatuarants, circle bar and shopping.

How nice of a place, and how long you gonna stay for? The AVN & Webmaster or just Webmaster?

SleazeQueen 10-04-2003 12:23 AM

Venetian, Mirage and Treasure Island are all going to be out of your price range probably.

You can try Harrah's and Barbary Coast for bargain rooms. They're within easy walking distance. Imperial Palace also has low rates, but I think their rooms are dumpy. If you don't mind and just need a place to sleep and shower, then you can stay there.

If you'll have a car, I have other suggestions, but if you're walking, those are really your best bets.

NaughtyJenn 10-04-2003 12:29 AM

i think im going to have to figure out what price range i can do as we get closer.. first is the plane tickets lol

Keev 10-04-2003 12:41 AM

You can always find other amateurs going and share a room...

try www.amateurmasters.com I am sure you can find some people.

MetaMan 10-04-2003 12:41 AM

john bobs motel,

" we fry em, you buy em "

Carrie 10-04-2003 12:42 AM

The prices for the plane tickets will be best once the event is 30 days away. At that point the airline is more interested in getting asses in the seats than charging premium price and risk sending an empty plane. It's best to wait on tickets, especially if you don't mind taking a flight at a weird time. Haunt the online ticket sites and watch the rates each week - Travelocity, CheapTickets, Orbitz etc.

If you're not going to stay at Venetian (super expensive), Treasure Island (moderately expensive), or Harrah's (their normal prices are cheaper than the "special Internext group rates"), then it doesn't matter where you stay really. Those three are an easy walk to the convention hall. Everything else... isn't. Many folks stay wherever they can and just take a cab ride over to the convention hall.

Like if you don't care about being able to come down the elevator and be surrounded by webmasters, you can stay at a hotel like the Holiday Inn by the airport, or even one of the nicer extended-stay places that are a block or so off of the Strip and do it for $35-$50 per night. Then just hop in a cab and have it take you right to the convention hall and you're set.

Check all of the hotel websites, watch for "winter deals" or "weekday specials" and call them and ASK if they're running any specials.

The trick is, don't try to book everything all on the same day or even the same week... just watch all of the sites online for specials and grab them when you see them come up.

Btw if you're budgeting for food, eating at the all-you-can-eat buffets is really inexpensive. Food is one of the cheapest things in Vegas... well, besides all of the free drinks :thumbsup

Carrie 10-04-2003 12:46 AM

PS - just about every webmaster board and sponsor program worth its weight will be giving away Internext tickets as we get closer. Usually contests on the boards and sponsor programs with "points" usually have tickets up in trade for points.

You could probably trade a photo shoot for a ticket as well with one of the many photographers that will be going - barter is a wonderful thing. :)

NaughtyJenn 10-04-2003 12:48 AM

shit if someone offerd me tickets i would do a custom shoot for them in a sec lol good idea hun :)

Chris 10-04-2003 12:50 AM

The Stratosphere is only $29.99 per night....the downside it is all the way at the end of the strip.....But my wife and I would be more than happy to give you a ride to the convention.

TheEbonyFelony 10-04-2003 01:07 AM

Jenn, consider it done. If you are able to get to the show, I will buy your show pass (and a bunch of drinks) for a quick shoot, in some promo hats, shirts, panties etc....:)
Something like this

treasure island is usually 120 a night ish. just walk across the street to get to the convention center. as big as the hotels are...and since the convetion is in the back corner - it's about as far to walk from the treasure - as it is to walk from a hotel room in the venetian - a little longer - but less than half the money.

brand0n 10-04-2003 11:08 AM

im stayin at the bellagio, great place

Mr Pheer 10-04-2003 11:12 AM

if you want to stay fairly cheap, the Luxor and the Aladdin have fairly nice rooms in to $70 range

and the Aladdin has high speed internet in the rooms

Dugmor 10-04-2003 11:17 AM

I highly recommend you don't wait on buying a ticket, that week is going to be a big travel week and the airlines will book up fast. Then you will either have to pay a fortune for a ticket or get stuck with like 3 lay overs or not get a ticket at all.:2 cents:
