from the preview it looked like the stupidest thing i ever saw. But some people will say they like it because its chic to like tarentino and they will feel like they are a deep person or something.

lol

From the previews, it looks like another Tarantino paint-by-the-numbers movie - jam in as much shock value and violence as possible, and there you go.

If all you've seen is the preview then you have no right to an opinion about the whole film.

Either see it or shut your cake hole.

Some people will say it must be shit because it's chic to pretend you are above shock-value and action flicks and they think it makes them deep to tell us that Tarantino's movies are beneath them.

Ok I just saw the movie and wasn't too impress.

And wath's with Uma Thurman wearing Bruce Lee's tight yellow jumpsuit, the one he wore in his last movie, Game of Death?

chowda 10-11-2003 07:45 PM

i liked the part were uma see's her enemy and the horns sound. thats awesome.

Zoe_Zoebaboe 10-11-2003 07:55 PM

Yeah. It was awesome.

Projectile bleeding for everyone.

The thing about it was that it was had humor on so many different levels, like the Simpsons.

Cant wait till Feb:thumbsup

I just saw it and it was kinda like a cross of Pulp Fiction the way the story line goes and Anime with real actors. It looks like he watched alot of Anime movies before making this movie.

debbieN 10-11-2003 08:08 PM

best B-movie I've seen in a while.

Liked the mid film anime -
Loved the music -
Daryl Hannas eye patch - (I think that will be a good outfit for Halloween!)

Just a lot of fun.

It's like reliving a piece of childhood (with more bloodshed). Remember Kung Fu Theater on Sunday afternoons, USA channel? Me and my dad used to spend every Sunday glued to that, I was about 10. For the nostalgia alone I give it an A+.

I do like Tarantino, not because it's chic, just because he tells a good story. Has anyone seen the movie "Four Rooms" where Tim Roth plays a bellboy at this old Hollywood hotel on a New Year's Eve? Tarantino does the last section called "The Man from La Mancha", it's the most hilarious scene in a movie ever! For that alone, I love him.

Granted, this was not a DEEP movie, but it's escapist fun, just like all the old Asian movies with a distinct American feel. Yeah, it's bloody as hell, but that's not exactly uncommon anymore.

But the one thing that I kept thinking was why in the hell they let her carry a big ass samurai sword on a commercial airliner post 9-11. And why didn't the police come and search Buck's truck? Those who have seen it know what I mean. All in all it was great, but sometimes the details get in the way of the story.

I was thinking the same thing while watching the movie. Watching her on the plane with the sword right beside her and driving out of the garage in the truck almost a day later with nobody looking at it. I figured, it's just a movie, so who cares. Nothing has to be explainable in a movie. Especially one like this.

To me it looked more like a Anime type of movie with all the blood squirting than some old kung fu movie.

Uma's got some ugly feet
