Creation or Evolution ?

Personally, I believe we were created. By what, I do not know. But I think evolution is PURE BULLSHIT.

If you believe in evolution, think of this:

* Put every part needed to create a car into a garage
* Walk away

Do you think those parts will EVER "evolve" to form a car, no matter how many BILLIONS of years they were given? Fuck no they won't! Humans are much more complex than cars, so why in the world would I believe that we "evolved"?

I think we're a science project of some more intelligent life form(s).

What do you think?

FATPad 10-23-2003 12:02 PM

Cars don't procreate. It would be impossible for them to evolve.

pamphage 10-23-2003 12:03 PM

:sleep

why can't it be both? why are they mutually exclusive?

god could have created everything through evolution, if thats what he freakin wanted to do.

KaLi 10-23-2003 12:04 PM

Neither, there was a big flash of light and suddenly 3 humans. They made us into what we are now.

blazi 10-23-2003 12:05 PM

I forget how I got here

Ad3pt 10-23-2003 12:06 PM

I think humans are refugees from Mars. The creation theory is just another story created by religions.

johnbosh 10-23-2003 12:06 PM

Damn I already answered and I wanna change, I hate susch questions:D

The point is that nothing gets more complex. Papers put on a table don't put themselves in order, but rather get scattered.

Think Entropy. Disorder and randomness.

JDog 10-23-2003 12:07 PM

But there is more evidience that evolution than there is creation, besides some old man that wrote the bible in a basement! :1orglaugh How the hell do we have proof that some old man didn't write all the BULLSHIT that is in the PIECE OF SHIT bible!

Face it, there is no god! If god created the universe, where did all the other universes come from? And does each universe have it's own gods? There's just too many unanswered questions that i have with the creation. And if god created earth and all that shit and then after 7 days, created Adam and Eve? What about the Dinosaurs? Huh? NO mention of them, but there were!

You are making the assumption that if one believes in creation he/she also believes in the Bible or God.

I do not believe in either (at least not the "god" that is defined in the Bible).

Neither do the Raelians, who believe other humans that are much more scientifically advanced created (cloned) us and placed us here.

But who created you if there was no "god" There has to be a creator? Maybe not the "god" in the bible but some being had to create you! Right?

In my opinion anyone that believes in "evolution", as in:

Cells eventually became fish which eventually became monkeys which eventually became humans

is fucking naive.

Yes, a creator... or group of creators (think of them as "scientists").

And before I try to figure out where THEY came from I'd first like to figure out where WE came from. So one question at a time, please.

I believe in both.

My opinion is stuff was created and evolves continuously.

Evolution is happening at this very moment.

See but who made them? Then who made them before them? I mean it just keeps goin and goin?

I do believe that, we were cells, we evolved! Could've been from the ocean - we are 98% salt water or 90% salt water!

It's just never ending questions that nobody will ever figure out!

The car parts, for those who can read and rationalize, were used as an example. And a very good one. Read above (the comment about entropy).

That was a terrible example.

Human cells can change. They can mutate. They can reproduce. They can become altered.

As does the evolution question. Same thing. Where did the "building blocks" come from?

So, we're in the same boat.

Let's get more 'egocentric' and think of ourselves. Let's not worry about how our "creators" (be that scientists or cells) came into existence until we figure out how WE came into existence.

So, back to that...

Danny_C 10-23-2003 12:30 PM

Just because there are pieces left unsolved, and aspects of our creation and advancement that are still mysteries, or are uncomprehendable, doesn't mean that there's not a logical answer. The last thing I'm going to do is start filling those holes with speculation and dogma like "higher powers" or "aliens created us". The truth is, I have no idea... but the evidence (and logic) points to evolution.

MattO 10-23-2003 12:30 PM

The theory of Evoultion is not about where we "came from", it's about the process which live evolves.

Life could have sprung from the shit of a massive space turtle, it still has nothing to do with Evolution.

5 major misconceptions about Evolution

Your kidding right? I believe in some form of evolution but at the same time I have an open mind to there being a creative force. Whether its in the form of a god, another colony on a distant planet etc. I am still open to that.

However evolution does exist. To this very day cells evolve and mutate in order to survive. Certain vaccines do not work on many viruses any longer. AntiBiotics are slowly becoming useless against many infections because the cells evolve and learn how to fight off the antibiotic. This is a small scale example and doesnt show a cell turning into a human etc. but it does show how things adapt.

Millions of years ago the cells that made us had to evolve and adapt to survive.

Not naive just an open mind. After all you won't truly know untill you are dead. :winkwink:

TheLegacy 10-23-2003 12:31 PM

There is the idea that man was created but from aliens - we are like a science experiment.

If we evolved then where does the soul fit in?? sense of right and wrong. For some reason man has the need to worship something throughout time. From statues to writings always wanting to worship something seen / unseen. Its as though its genetically imprinted on us.

Despite what some say there is not alot of proof towards evolution - and findings are showing that the world is not as old as we originally thought. Remember when they landed on the moon?? Had massive landing gear figuring the dust would be several feet thick instead it was only inches. Proving that the moon and earth was young.

Genetics also show that all mankind originated from two - and that we are less like the ape than first thought.

I prefer to think that there is a meaning to life (*outside of Monty Python), a design - not organized religion, but an organized alien being we call God.

Once again... the point was ENTROPY. Not car parts.

Unrelated "building blocks" do NOT become MORE complex. Entropy. Less complexity. More DISORDER and RANDOMNESS.

Look at the past 300-400 years. Humans them selves have evolved! We adapt to our environments! Look at the difference between us and the humans from 300 yrs ago, look 500, 1000 years ago. We our selves have evolved!

Go research, and you'll find out!

The myth about the moon dust is spread by creation "scientists" even though it's been proven false.

Dude everthing gets more complex..... You can see evolution everywhere, especially in humanity look how we have gone from being hunters to building cites. Look at the different species that die out cause the can't adapt and look at those that thrieves cause they are better adapted.. If the effects are so clear that we can se them in the small timeframe we live, put that in a larger timeframe of lets say 100 million years and think of what could happen.

Think Entropy. Disorder and randomness.

the problem with your line of thinking is you equate "evolving" to "being put into order". Well who ever said anyting was in "order"? You should be thinking "evolve" = "adaptation". Your examples suck. Car parts and paper are not living cells, they do not grow or change or strive to reproduce to further their existence. They do not adapt to their environment. (Evolve). They only decompose and disintegrate.

Evolution? Of course. Every living thing is evolving. Constantly adapting to its environment. That doesn't mean it's being put into any "order". "Order" exists only in your mind. Things simple "ARE". They "are" what they have adapted (evolved) into.

You think there was some blinding flash of light and BLAM! suddenly there was all this shit? ROFL! Or better yet, some cosmic scientists "created" all this in some lab in a far away galaxy as a class project?

hahahahaha.... :1orglaugh

Entropy as you are talking about, is used in the context of an open system. The Earth is a closed system, fueled by the sun.

Snowflakes, sand dunes, tornadoes, stalactites, graded river beds, and lightning are just a few examples of order coming from disorder in nature; none require an intelligent program to achieve that order.

I have no problems with cells evolving (changing). But for one species to change into an entirely new one? :1orglaugh

Why are there no "half monkeys - half humans" ? If we slowly changed from monkey to human where are those who are "in between" ?

That doesn't make you go "hmmmm" ???

Read some more of the posts. Those that couldn't adapt couldn't live. If they can't adapt to the new environment, how can they survive?

They can't. Their offspring has evolved to the new "sepian" And their stage ends and they die off slowly!

I vote Creation. There is no way I am evolved from monkey. :)

They just ceased to exist after changing from ape to man? or fish to ??
