ACACIA LEAK - Who Is It Really?
I have been reading all these posts and I have seen Dozens of people saying,
"I Know for 100% certainty that: (pick one from below) Hustler Vivid BabeNet CE AVN Matrix gave out my info".... Some are even the same people with 2 different 100% comfirmations about 2 different companies.... What's up with this? Seems like a bunch of well respected companies are getting slammed but everyone is saying that there 100% sure it ANY one of the 6. I'm all for finding out who? (could be 2 of them, 1 of them, 5 of them or none) but lets not jump the gun here... That's how reputations get tarnished. Let put together all the info from all all the people that say, "there certain it's ????????" and see what it adds up to. I pretty sure all of us can add up numbers (we all check stats every day, 10 times) Just my 2cents... P.S. Got my letters (3 last month, 2 this week) and I can't attribute them to anyone company, all could have come from a whois. |
you got 5 letters? wow

Well as for me, that's simple:
I moved to a new house 2 weeks ago.. i didn't update my new address to anything... not even my domain names whois information... just didn't have time yet... last week though, i updated my address at Matrix Content, because i have a partnership program with them and they have to send me a check so the reason i updated my address.... and now i'm getting an Acacia letter.. where else could they fucking find my actual address other than Matrix Content? Nobody else has my address period! FUCK THEM and they can keep their fucking check and maybe buy some lube for their Acacia ass fucking! |
Considering their pleas for sales every 2nd week to buy their content, I don't think that was a smart move on their part.
I know their content is amazing, but giving information on people that 1) give you business 2) bring you business through sales it's not a good move on anyones' part. I wonder what the courts would say if Visa gave out the information of their credit card holders to someone who 'says' they own the patent on the 'swiping of the card' technology (extreme example but again just an example) there would be privacy issues they'd have to deal with. Nowhere have I read that they could give my business or personal information to a third party other than the police/fbi/irs and what not. For someone else, there are serious privacy issues they'll have to deal with. If they've changed their TOS in the last few days, they have to have advised us prior to having given the info, and if we decided we wanted to close our accounts with them - they'd better not have forwarded that info. Anyone with the balls & a good lawyer can cause them enough heat - the ones that gave that info 'to sweeten their deal' & ACACIA for using SPAM tactics to get people to settle - so they can have enough ammunition to try getting the bigger guys. |
I have only dealt with two of those places and I got 1 letter today. I laughed at the letter

well like i said on AWI

I also find it curious that a high-profile company that takes extremely sensitive personal information on their visitors/users (credit card, mailing address, etc.) doesn't have a posted privacy policy
