acacia question

If acacia can go after people who promote other sites, then wouldnt they be able to go after google and yahoo and other search engines? if they cant, how come they can come after us? if they can, how come they arent suing them, they could get more money out of them

Because then they would get bitchslapped, their patent would be invalidated in no time, and no one would be scared into paying them.

Like I was saying earlier this is just absurd. If they can hold a patent over your head just for linking to a site then basicly what they are saying is 90% of the internet owes them something.

God a question. Isnt all free software called GNU? Wasn't streaming audio and video GNU? Since anyone can create it with code, how could they patent it? Everyone codes different, if my plugin is created different then another companys, how can you call it the same thing? I cant patent the registration of .com domain names and then charge everyone who owns a .com $100 to register, so why do I have to pay that?

kenny 10-24-2003 05:35 PM

I patent the letter "K" everytime I see one of you use it I will expect $1. Use it on average 500 times a day I will cut you a deal $.075

IntenseCash 10-24-2003 05:35 PM

yahoo and google are search engines... what could they possibly sue them for?

maybe yahoo for their vid news stories...

I would think go after microsoft... but I am sure they would rather see how successful they could be with the porn industry, then they will go after the big boys.

kenny 10-24-2003 05:41 PM

Because Google links to sites that violates the patent. By doing so Google is exploiting their rights. Well that seems to be the logic they are using agasint TGP sites:1orglaugh

If they are actually going after those who just link to sites that have video, then Bermen is a blatant liar..

He said in his interview, which I'm sure is archived, that they would NOT being doing that, and could not do that..
