y0nki - I love your country!
I visited Aregentina at the end of 1991 and thoroughly enjoyed my 5 day stay... very nice people and a wonderful beach.
I stayed in Mar del Plata. I hope more people here get a chance to check it out. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup ~Ray |
hey man, thanks... i love my country too :)
i live just a few miles away from mar del plata, hope to be there this summer, a month away from now... |
Were you there in late 1991 when the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk ported in Mar del Plata? We were the first American warship to port there in over 20 years and all of us were signing autographs like crazy. The people were really nice and I handed out a ton of US coins for souveneirs and even enjoyed a Ham pizza in the outdoor cafe while 50 people stood around and watched us eat. They even took our empty beer cans as souveneirs... :)
Lots of fun. ~Ray |
No, wasn't there... i was too young in 1991. Those were rough times for Argentina, maybe even worst than now. On that time there was a new president, second democratic government after the army took the power in 1976, who reestablished the bonds with countries like usa. I really like that man's way of life, not at all his ways of managing politic business.
I believe you, man. People here is very nice with tourists and foreigners, not particularly because they're an income for the country but i think because of being sons-grandsons-etc almost all of us from people from another countries. Don't know back in 1991 what happened in Mar del Plata, but now it's the joint for the decadent famous tv ppl :) it's a snob place, 'cuz it's not really classy or anything... that might be why i like it so much |
