Hard choice
 

This may bite me in the ass at a latter date, I just know it.

Some of you may know I was contacted very early on by the Acacia (2002). After a long ass talk with my attorney and then another talk with Acacia we decided it was in our best interest to remove videos from our site until everything was resolved. Despite only offering videos contained in a zip file and or linking to other providers sites. According to my attorney and also confirmed with my talk with Acacia, removal of such content at that stage removed me from liability as long as I did not put it back up. No settlement was signed ect. I just did a cease and desist on myself.

After resent events that have unfolded regarding databases, I saw my attorney again. As I thought, what I did in no way guarenteed that I could not be sued for past infringement if they did wish to take me to court. My attorney and I spoke about a few other issues as well in regard to this.

As of last night I redid our database to reflect some changes. All webmaster names have been reduced to initials, all urls have been removed, and all physical addresses have been replaced with just a zip code. This only reflects licenses that used or contained video content from us up until we stopped offering it. All backup databases have been destroyed, and all paper copies have been shredded and burnt. Thankfully we have never kept any copies of our database online or accessable via any network, so the thought of an illegal copy floating around does not exist.

I must say that I had 2 video sets up that were donated by other providers. As it was stipulated in the usage of those sets at the time. Those providers recieved copies of the licenses that webmasters sent in who were using those sets. I can not speak for what they did with these licenses.

I have no idea what the future holds, I just know that I do not want to be put into the position where I must choose between myself and screwing others, so I remove my ability to choose as a pre-emptive strike.

We need more people like you in this biz that would rather take a hit to their bottom line than risk fucking over peers in the industry
