The future of adult web sites......

I was perusing the content available on a fairly well known P2P today. I could get the entire Hegre & Gallistan (sp?) archives. All 23 Suze cd's. GlamourModelsGoneBad & BlacksonBlondes entire site. Every picture set from Stephen Hicks, Dream Girls and M&B. Complete (and I mean complete) offline captures of to many other sites to mention. All those sites you see in the password lists, their (virtually) all available as complete sites for offline perusing. Too many single model young teen sites (tiffanyteen etc. etc.) to mention as well.

The problem is it's only going to get a lot worse before it gets better as the mainstream surfers move to faster lines and the glory of P2P.

I came to the conclusion today that the only workable model for an adult site in 2-5 years will be as a downloadable .exe file that basically grabs content and acts more or less like a private web connection between the site and the paying surfer. Unless P2P gets banned world wide I guess.

*sigh*

In that conclusion, though, you factor in developing technologies, such as DRM, and other things that will surely surface in that time frame? Sure, if nothing changed *at all* thats what might end up happening...but if you haven't noticed, this industry is constantly developing and changing, and coming to a conclusion on how it will be in 2-5 year is literally impossible. Picture yourself 5 years ago...do you think there's ANY way you could have predicted how the industry would be today?

If you recall the original premise of the Net was to be a free kind of forum and non-commercial.

We've turned it into the most diverse shopping mart ever created.

There are still a lot of people that live by the "everything should be free" concept.

And I'd bet if you checked the PC's of everyone here you would find an endless trove of unlicensed pics, software, and music.

The best model in the long term that always works is what network television does.

Produce unique content, grab eyeballs, sell advertising, and later on syndicate that content.

Well, cant argue with that. I will say that in the late eighties, I ran a BBS. People dialled in, perused lists, and downloaded porno pics. Nothing much has changed in that working model in 12-15 years. But I do get your point.
