Does google keep DNS cached for a long time?

I switched to a better hosting plan about a week ago and reupped new doorway pages but even though the freshbots have come 3 times since the DNS updated, and the dates in my google listings have changed the pages stay the same. When I was on the same host they'd always be changed within 2 days of me editing them. I think I'm going to upload a new page to the directory for one of the domains on my old server and see if it changes there :2 cents:

Yes, a couple of times when I have shifted servers and kept the old one up I've seen google and other bots hitting it for days or even weeks after the change. I presume they clear their cache at the start of every crawl.

Yeah it definetly seems that's what's going on. Inktomi and Altavista however are going to town on the new server. :thumbsup
