Why do people supe up their cars?

I guess I can understand old shit boxes... but I know a guy who suped up his BMW.

What's up with that?

Peter Romero 10-30-2003 08:51 PM

penis envy

SmutGiant 10-30-2003 08:59 PM

and some people seem to spend more on a stereo system than the actual car itself.

What's up with that?

chowda 10-30-2003 09:00 PM

marginal cost and the opportunity cost it carrys.

in short. coz a few hundred spent makes mycar nice.

lagwagon 10-30-2003 09:00 PM

My triathalon racing bicycle costs about as much as my car... my waterproof discman cost me about $100. Catching muther fuckers that try to run me off the road by catching up to them by skimming traffic... PRICELESS!!!

blazi 10-30-2003 09:02 PM

why not?

BradShaw 10-30-2003 09:02 PM

I agree, its a waste. $20k wheels, etc. People save your $, especially if you make your $ off online porn.

I used to fix up my cars..... Until I discovered that I always traded my old cars in for new ones and I never got a dime out of what I put into it.

I'm pretty sold on Mustangs. I'm gonna do the exhaust, the grill, and a few other things, but otherwise it's staying stock. If I wanted a faster car I would have bought a faster car.

My logic.... I spend way more time @ home than driving.... so the home theater/sports room gets my attention.

60in hdtv + a handful of additional satellite recievers/tvs for watching all the games. Recliners for all. Of course the sound got more than it's share of attention
Topped off with the restaraunt-style food table w/ heat lamps so the food stays hot & never have to miss a play heading to the kitchen.

Now if I can just find a way to relieve myself in that room, I'll be completely set.

Trade that TV in for a dlp projector and get a minimum of 100 inch screen. 120 inches is even better. Be a REAL sports fan. Any job worth doing, is worth doing right, or not at all.

This has been an ongoing project for years. I'd love to go w/ a projector set-up... but with just about everything custom fit, flush within the wall... I'd basically have to bring in a wrecking ball to have the additional tv's still be viewable with that large of a projection screen.

So do what I did. Dedicate a room of the house for the big screen. I have my 60inch Hitachi in the family room, and I turned a spare bedroom into a theater with a 100inch screen.

Modify a real car to increase performance or rice up a jap economy car/eurotrashmobile?

StuartD 10-30-2003 09:50 PM

I had to go back to Ontario for a family emergency recently... middle of nowhere Ontario.

I pull into a donut shop late at night and the parking lot it's in is HUGE.... I start to notice these little cars, gleaming and shining and these big ass gangsta looking guys everywhere.... I pull around the side and whammo... I swear I felt like I was in the middle of the Fast and the Furious.

All I kept thinking was "Damn, those look nice, but I gotta get the hell outta here!"

I kid you not, not one of those cars looked like it was less than $80G's or $100G's. They put WAY to much money into those little street cars.

I figure they were all there just waiting for one of their buddies shift to end at the donut shop. Gotta pay for those mods somehow.

Being from Vancouver where the gook street racers killed an RCMP officer during a race, you would know these kids are mostly suburban trust fund babies.

import cars have just as many parts and performance enthusisiast as rice rockets.
