My BIGGEST Acacia question
Can anyone give me an idea of how long it will take to invalidate the Acacia patents in court? Is this something that could happen in six months? If so, I don't mind riding the storm out. On the other hand, if this shit is going to go on for five years, I'm much less inclinned to do so.
They've given a Nov 30 deadline and I assume that a bunch of lawsuits will be filed soon thereafter. By the time any significant decisions are made about these patents, my credit rating could be ruined, my car could be taken, and my wages could be raped. |
boobmaster chilllllllllllllllllllllllllll man it sounds like you are gonna go crazy and stressed out
Till you have someone knocking on your door and saying Mr Boobmaster you have been served and gives you something like this: http://www.juicylinks.com/hotlink/images/law1.jpg or this: http://www.juicylinks.com/hotlink/images/law2.jpg just keep on doing what your doing |

Why am I picturing a big b**b pacing around sweating bullets... on the CEILING? They can't just snatch all your paychecks... just a reasonable percentage set by the JUDGE. IF that turns out to be too much, you have every right to petition the judge to lower it, present proof as to why and they normally will. IF you are making payments it shouldn't affect your credit rating... and they surely can't come and swipe your car... assuming you are armed? ;-) (A rock will do for that part)
At least thats the way it used to work. |

Hey boob... I noticed you napping in my inbox the other day ;)
It's almost that time again |
I gather from what you hinted at earlier that you might be afraid to make an appearance because it will make your local papers.
I think this is a text book case of what Acacia was hoping - that a lot of webmasters won't want to face the press and will quickly cave rather than walk into a courtroom. Fortunately, most of us don't give a flying fuck. But the answer to your original question is, I think, possibly years. |
20 more days till the deadline, I wonder what everyone's considering in their minds. It's driving me crazy, and taking time away from business.

We'll see what happens.

Yea thats the bitch about this, any links to sponsors or sites that do use streaming video can lead you to be in violation.

This is exactly what Acacia are planning on, enough webmasters get scared by a letter, then all rush to sign up so Acacia can continue to finance the fight in court. Acacia are so desperate to raise money they are down to cold calling on the phone by guys who do not know what they are doing. :1orglaugh
Every $ you give to Acacia contributes towards screwing your fellow webmasters. Every licensee is giving to screw the rest of you. I say you because I will just roll up the drawerbridge and let them sue me here in Europe. How much have you given to IMPA or Fight The Patent? These are the guys that are taking the fight to Acacia. Eventually the patent will get turned over and by us in the porn business, waiting for Microsoft to come in and save us is like waiting for hell to freeze over. But every one who signs up will just make it mor expensive for those that are left to fight alone. Ignore it until you get a summons and do not think signing up saves you from anything. Unless you get a cast iron deal that rolls on for years, they will bleed you dry to fund the fight. This year 2%, next year 5% and the year after? Who knows, not even Ryan and Berman themselves will tell you. |
