I'm pretty sure that the new California anti-spam law doesn't kick in till Jan 01, 2004.

Acacia Stock today 11 am
$ 6.08 dropping |
Would be nice if they'll get sued for spamming
|
I got this message today too. It's so weak when they don't even know your name. I mean even the bigger-cock spammers seem to on a first name basis with me, but Acacia opens with "Dear Webmaster".

I don't see it as desperate.. i see it as the next step in their licensing execution strategy: Send out 'information packets' starting in october 2002. They started the first big wave in October 2003 with the mailing of the 'Final Notice'. In November, they are now spamming webmaster's email with the 'Final Notice'. Nov. 30th is the "amnesty date" for their "introductory rates". I believe in December is when they will file lawsuits.... Berman has fumed in articles before that since adult webmasters didn't respond to their 'information packets' earlier in the year, that they had no choice but to take them to court. Fight the Canned Ham! |

Anyone who settled with Acacia that is buddies with them, could have turned over a webmaster email list.... more than just the Matrix database could have been used. Fight the Turn-over! |

I dont think that law comes into effect until 24th Nov But it is up to 1 million $ fine so it will only take 40 people sueing them to close them down ? |
They seem to be getting desperate in intimidating webmasters.
