I believe you go into a 6 month monitoring program where you also receive fines, however, any of the CC peeps around this board should be able to give you a definitive answer on it.

There are two different stages of monitoring for those sponsored merchants who exceed the VISA 1% cbk threshold

Stage 1 - Monitoring

Duration: 2-3 months

IPSP submits a cbk reduction plan on behalf of the sponsored merchant, VISA monitors your account

Stage 2 - Breakout list (aka The Death March)

Duration: I am operating under the assumption that this program is 3 months based on my dealings with VISA.

Sponsored Merchant is broken out on their own descriptor AT ALL PROCESSORS where you are currently processing. VISA will then aggregate all of your transactions to determine your ratios.

The descriptor will be changed as follows: Paycom.net * ABCSITE descriptor will be cahnged to ABCSITE * Paycom.net

If the sponsored merchant exceeds the VISA overall threshold of 1% they will be fined $100-200/chargeback

If the sponsored merchant exceeds the VISA FOREIGN overall threshold of 2.5% they will be fined $100-200/chargeback for evey foreign chargeback (this threshold decreases to 2% Jan. 1)

If the sponsored merchant fails to bring their chargeback ratios to within program guidelines then they will face termination from the VISA program. All of your registered URLs will be blacklisted and unable to accept VISA transactions in the future. Plus you will lose all of your recurring members.
