Any ebay sellers? Question..

I am selling clothing out of my house right now. Sean John, gucci, rocawear and all that stuff little rich white kids wear.

Anyone have any luck selling clothing on ebay? Anything special I should know?

Thanks

Corleone 11-25-2003 02:14 AM

sure they're buying everything there... i sold all my old stuff there ;) useless books. etc

mark your clothes as rare ;) i want the sean john stuff ;) its hard to get it here :D

psyko514 11-25-2003 02:15 AM

it's not any different than selling anything else on ebay.

with that type of clothing, you'll probably do good business.

did you get it wholesale?

Corleone 11-25-2003 02:15 AM

i sold a used book for 25 $ ;) he'd get a new one in the store for 20 :D

Hell. It's just like the porn biz...

With the right descriptions and the right presentation, you can make some nice cash!

Don't set a reserve price and start the auction prices really low and your item will go for what it's really worth.
I've started $2k items at $1 with no reserve and it always makes them go for more money because it gets lots of bidders involved.

Also search for your item first and see how much it is going for and be sure you pick good keywords or nobody will find your item to bid on it.

Good luck.

That actually makes pretty good sense. Thanks for the tip.

Ive sold about 12 cars and tons on R/C related shit.
Work in these words and you will make a ton:
"rare", "haunted", "posessed", "ghost in a jar"

beemk 11-25-2003 08:35 AM

look on ebay and see what its going for? where do you get the clothes from?

1.set the longest length of time, 3 day auctions usually suck

2. link to your other auctions in your description

3. Feature your high end stuff

along with the other suggestions made you would do good

ALWAYS have your listings end on a Saturday or Sunday night. Sunday night is better. That way it will be on more lists towards the end, and more people will see it. The ending time is as important as the keyword spam you put in there ;)

this is good advice as well....the one missing thing so far is if you have multiple credit cards get multiple bidnames...so if your reserves aren't met you can outbid the gucci pants so they don't go for $30bucks... yeah I know you pay the commission but better that than learning the hard way about whether to choose reserve/no reserves

Hmm I wonder if people actually sell there ebay names online? having a shit load of feedback always helps...my wife has over 3000 now... yes and I taught her quite well how to spam ebay keywords...lol she even gets C&D for keyword ebay spamming...ahhh she is learning sooo fast

I buy and sell on ebay all the time, it's really a good place to sell your stuff.. and when I need something new, I always get it there.

adjektiv .. good advice on starting low, it makes more bidders get involved like you said.. then when the end comes near.. there you are with 17 bids as opposed to others in the same category with only a couple if any.. really makes you stand out.

and btw.. clothes are huge on ebay even used clothes sell, especially if they're a good brand name or something special.

The world's going underground.. hehe

its against ebays policy to bid on your own stuff. i used to do it back when i had an ebay business when i was 16 before you needed credit cards to sign up. they sent a multiple email to like 20 of my accounts canning them all for what they called "shilling".
