Combined member area or seperate?
What you think works best and why.
Lets say you have a webmaster program with 6 sites. Teen, voyeur, fetish, ebony, mature, lesbian, obviously the person who signs up for a particular site wants to see pics in that niche. So you have tons of content in each niche, would you make 1 huge member area with all those niches combined on 1 url (so all the tours basically have the same member area) or would you rather give the surfer the option to have free access to the other sites and keeping everything seperate. (same amount of content tho) For once im trying to be serious so lets keep the 1 word funny replies out of this thread please. |
A lot of sponsors do the combined method. Justifies $30+/month. But if the person signs up for a pregnant site. They really aren't interested that they are paying for all the tranny content and hardcore. Also, ppl will get pissed off when they join multiple paysite frontends for totally different sites. Like a pregnant site, and maybe later a teen site, and they have the exact same members area. Can you hear chargeback/refund?

Its like you go to a grocery store to buy cornflakes and they give you some roles of Mentons for free. You might not need it but it wouldnt piss you off rigtht? Still i know youre saying tho, have to think about it. More input please. |
Combined, but have the members area generated Dynamically based on an Identifier in the members area URL that "fronts" all of the specific Niche content but also allows the surer to view the rest of it if he or she wishes.
run on sentence much...lol :2 cents: |

Ok in all seriousness.
I do not like option 1, with combining everything. What happens if they join one of your other sites (urls in your case) latter and relize it is the same members section ect. On option 2 you have them getting free access to the other sites, again an idea I am not fond of. Why give it away? Why not just do seperate sites all together and bill for them independantly? Seems like the most worthwhile solution. True you may not be able to justify the 39.99 a month or whatever (then again few sites do), so just charge less, and use your other sites as exits or whatever. |

"get % other complete members area for this one low price" or something like that. Option number 2 takes much less work to update. When you update 1 site...you update them all As long as the Niche specific content that the surfer has signed up for is "fronting" the members area....it works out very well for all invloved. :2 cents: |
Heya Bat ~ I'll hit you up later tonight, my ICQ's fucked at home and I need to fix it first.

My feeling is that true high quality sites don't need to give up their other sites content. *Most* of the members areas I see doing this are quite lackluster in each individual niche area/site.
This is damage control for sites that suck. NastyDollars being one of the exceptions. |
Hmm...thanks.
I personally like to give the member as much as possible for his money but i agree that making 1 general member area might not be the way to go. Seems like alot of you think that as well. Great thanks for the answers! Equinox, i sent you an icq, i thought you were hiding :)) |
nastydollar members area gives u access to all of their other paysite content.
