Computer problem (monitor) please help

I just moved into my new house and i have a new computer... when i hook up my old computer with all my shit on it the monitor doesnt get a signal. i tried 2 different monitors too. i took the video card out and put it back in and it worked this morning, but not it doesnt work again. i tried taking it out 2x already and no luck. anyone know what the problem might be? im guessing i might need a new video card but want to make sure before i go out and buy one... plus i wanted to get it working tonight.

any ideas?

Switch out your current video card with the new one. You'll know then.

Wait, I just reread your last post. You are using the new computer with the old monitor? If so, yeah video card or cable.
