One Of Our New Affiliates Converted @ 1:2 Yesterday

Your opinions on this would be appreciated please, my personal instinct was that it was a fraudulent signup because there was no referring url to the sale.

What the general consensus?

Over how many signups?

One? One off-norm signup isn't really an issue, I woudl think. Old cookie/new visitor/who knows.

2 signups

But the traffic for the day actually leveled out to make his ratio approx 1:100.

The thing is these signups were less than 10 minutes apart which was what made me think it was fraud.

For a new affiliate to instantly send 2 signups within 15 mins of signing up just sat a little weird with me especially with the ratios we saw :2 cents:

brand0n 12-18-2003 09:49 PM

was that over all. and if so how much traffic did he send?

This is a prime example of people running "webmaster" programs that would be better off flipping burgers. IF you have to ask this question, you need to buy a clue.

Edit : didnt read all the thread

have him send more hits and then post

i would check the customers emails, names, etc. see if they are punctuated the same. it sounds fraudulent to me. but he could have just got lucky... is traffic still comming in?

Yeah thats whats happening but i dont have access to that info.

Yeah he seems to be sending in traffic slowly, who knows maybe the guy threw the banner up at the right time for him last night :thumbsup

Either way we'll be monitoring his acct for the next few days just to see whats going on :thumbsup

That's not odd. He's just checkin your members areas before deciding whether to promote you or not.... and probably to check your stats too...

By signing up twice?

Obviously i dont know if both signups were from the same person all im saying is it just looked odd to me, might be that the guy is reading this thread right now trying to figure out how the hell he got a 1:2 ratio lol

Either way, if they are honest signups, hitting 1:100 isnt to bad for the first days use of a new sponsor :thumbsup

RRRED 12-18-2003 10:04 PM

He also might have sent it with bookmark traffic that has seen the same links for months...

Fresh sites will definately pull an initial cluster of signups in this case...

Gemini 12-18-2003 10:10 PM

Brad said it all... lol

Looks like you don't have to worry about spending any money on doing any advertising stunts then. :Graucho :glugglug

Stud Money 12-18-2003 11:48 PM

This just in....

It seems that those two signups were in fact legitimate signups one was from Canada and another was based in Central America (confirmed by ip address and isp) :thumbsup

Congrats to Mr 1:2 conversion ratio (you know who you are:Graucho) on http://www.blackmalestuds.com :thumbsup

Cant wait for some more of your traffic :thumbsup

Indeed. You are fortunate that your brother will at least give you a job sitting on message boards spamming all day since you apparently can't hold down a real one.

And flame it up a bit in your posts will ya? Your obvious heterosexuality is really showing! :1orglaugh

Hell I remember way back about 2 1/2 years ago I had an index page to a domain I was using for submitting. Just started to submit galleries and voila I had like less than 6 clicks to that page and 1 sale off of a banner...my first sale ever in this biz :glugglug

Never can tell.

If you don't know the person personally you'll need to watch them like a hawk - and shut them down the moment the first chargeback comes in.

Belive it or not, I can beat that. A well known person on this board just signed up for our program and is beating your converstion ratio. Life is wonderful.
