all the best .xxx domains are taken, most by the corp that runs new.net. They are not a true TLD and they will never catch on.

When they sell enough domains, or through political legislation, it is believed ICANN will be forced to add New.net domains to the main internet root system, alongside dot-com, dot-net and dot-org, giving added stability to xxx websites.

i've been hearing this scenario for years. So far it's just a way for few to cash money from a non-existing web property. ICANN come up with .xxx and knock out the existing sold domains. Nobody limits them

registerfly a major domain reseller is selling domains for new.net so it could catch on quickly.

... SCAM, SCAM, SCAM ... I still have a couple of .xxx domains from the big hype 3 years ago ... you can have them all for 2cents !!!

If you were so scammed you wouldnt have them. Nobody is saying it will repace dot com the new extensions are now more readily available if more people catch on to the extension it wont leave you feeling yours are worth 2c.

I'll give each buyer of sex.xxx a different DNS server they can use to resolve their addresses. Of course you'll have to convince people to switch their DNS servers before they can access sites through your domain names, and the domains will have nothing to do with ICANN's DNS system, and I might just close up shop at any time without telling you or refunding your money, but that's the same deal as anyone else who's selling .xxx names. And I'll save you a lot of money providing the same rip-off for less!!

There have been dozens of sites that have sold .xxx domains, and I'm sure all had a sex.xxx. Most are gone now. Robin's TLDNS, mentioned above, was one of the more widely installed in maybe early 2000, but a few months after starting TLDNS, he retired from the industry to persue his dream of opening a nursing home with his wife, or something like that. The thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of people who had switched their DNS settings to TLDNS suddenly couldn't reach anything on the Internet, and no doubt placed thousands of calls to their ISPs trying to set things right again. Similar fates have befallen most other sellers and users of ICANN-unauthorized extensions.

I would love to have a go at icann for the way they have handled domain sales in past
I have lost of most of my domains through registerfly accredited by icann.
All this news lately is just another kick in the mouth. What really pisses me off is i registered the best names twice already i really wish i had some sort of entitlement to some especially since webmasters.com isn't an adult site.

Ps xxxextension.com is no longer registered to me. One of the many lifted.
