Down here too. Talking to them now. Trying to figure out wtf is going on. Surprisingly the tech on the line had no idea they were down, which is odd since everybody using them seems to be down.

Just talked to Ben. Apparently nobody here even called Jupiter to tell them they were down. (NOTE GUYS If you are down CALL your host before bitching on GFY. That should be your priority). Anyhow he's on it. Apparently it may be the same situation as a few days ago, their upstream link switching a line or something. Should be up very shortly.

I figured they may have noticed their WHOLE FUCKIN NETWORK GOING DOWN

They should have network monitoring period. Fuck calling they should have known and been working on it. Sin Host have once rung me and told me when my software took the server down which was no fault of their own.

wrong. i pay my host to monitor my boxes and when any of them is down (for any reason) - they page me. it's that simple.

I agree. Right after I posted that, my partner said how the fuck did they not notice it. I still think that people should at least call them before bitching.

One funny thing is our other host Swiftwill told us we were down on Jupiter. Somehow i find that funny and sad at the same time.

They make me feel really secure. :1orglaugh

Not to sling shit at another host, I have heard nothing bad about Jupiter.

BUT, every host has network monitoring and KNOWS when a connection is dropped or traffic plummets (or skyrockets).

So, yes; if your site/server is down, inform the company because if it is just 1 site on a server not working they probably wont notice (most companies monitor the whole server, not individual sites).

Time to smoke and take a long walk...

any real host has monitors the nanosecond any site goes down they are on top of it.


having to advise your host that your site is down is total bullshit.

serversalive software has been around for like 10 years.

This is the second time in a couple weeks this has happened. Once more and I'm jumping ship.
