Do you consider yourself sucessful?

What's your personal attitude towards your own self achievment?

Mine is that I always feel like I have potential, and I'm always trying to put something together to maximize that potential, but I don't think I've come anywhere near it yet. Is that ego? Well I honesty don't think I've done much to date....

....my site and income (although compared to an average salary are incredible and many many times) make me feel like I could be making a LOT more but I always fell like I'm not doing enough to maximize it.....

dropped9 02-12-2004 10:52 PM

To me success is happiness. As long as I am happy with myself and my life I've accomplished something. :)

beemk 02-12-2004 10:52 PM

so happiness doesnt have any factor? thats how i would judge success. and yes i consider myself successful.

buddyjuf 02-12-2004 10:53 PM

I think I am successful

why? because successful is a relative term

when I compare myself to the others my age struggling, working night shifts and such just to pay their gas, I can see the difference

compared to you people, I am nowhere near successful
also, my income is not stable, that greatly lowers my mark in the "success" category.

it all comes down to this
I love what I Do on the internet, there is nothing I rather be doing
I get paid good money for it, for my age, and hope to achieve alot more in the near future :thumbsup

i'm very happy with my life - but that doesn't mean I sit on my ass.

I know myself well enough that I have to be achieving to be happy to some degree.

TDF 02-12-2004 10:53 PM

i make enough money to make other people money, thats what matters to me

Angry Man 02-12-2004 10:53 PM

Depends on how you define success & self achievment. From what you just typed, it sounds like you measure it in monthly bank statements. That's good & well, but kind of narrow.

D-man 02-12-2004 10:54 PM

nope

Agreed..

But I always want and crave more. Im never settled..
It makes me happy to crave more, and then accomplish it.

The drive, the game, and engaging in it and doing it well makes me happy.

I think in order to be happy you have to be upbeat and motivated to want and work for more. Its when you loose that drive that happiness dies..

I see so many people with no drive who say they are happy becasue they claimed to be relaxed and hoave nothing going.
When in fact they are the most down and depressed people.

Its those people with that drive and motivation that always seem happy.

you'd be wrong to think that.

i measure it in TOYS

GTS Mark 02-12-2004 10:55 PM

I think you always should take time to reflect on where you were and where you are now. One of my employees and I were out drinking the other night at this bar down the street. A year ago he was working for me part time and he was the only person that worked for me. Now we have a full time staff of 6 and are doing a hell of a lot more business than I would ever had imagined. That is a pretty big change in one year.

I still think we can make huge advancements with GTS and lots of cool things are in the pipeline. I'm happy where I am right now but I think things can only get better! :thumbsup

nope, didn't think you'd understand.

it's not about amassing ownership - it's about experiences.

Doctor Dre 02-12-2004 11:01 PM

I could do way better than I'm doing now ... But yet I'm doing way better than most of people . For my age I'm doing way way way better than average .

But you can't consider yourself successfull until you've been on top . If I was Sleazy or Lens or Larry Flynt, I'd consider myself successfull .

I had quick and big success in everything I did . I just need to stick to one thign now :)

sleazy looks at lens and doesn't consider himself sucessful.
lens looks at Larry and doesn't consider himself sucessful.
Larry looks at bill gates and doesn't consider himself sucessful.

i've always looked down on parents that havn't had a life of their own so they live their dreams though their kids.

you can have a great life and still bring up good kids who will have a life of THEIR own.

It IS possible, you don't have to let the kids do everything.

Ice 02-12-2004 11:13 PM

I am not even close to achieving what I would consider being sucessful. Weather it is in my personal life or business life, there is always room to grow. I can look in a mirror and be happy with what I have done but I still know I can do much more.

Im always looking at how I can make my life better and if you think you are perfect then you are not looking in the mirror hard enough.

I learn something from everyone I talk to weather it pertains to business or personal....and if I can't learn something from it..... Im not listening hard enough......

Just my :2 cents:

Paul Markham 02-12-2004 11:29 PM

In my personla life I consider myself successful, some might say lucky. I married to a beautiful woman who loves me back and we share our lives 24/7

In business, still got a few more minor goals to achieve and one major one. To train Eva to take over from me so I can take a back seat.

Problem is in business I'm ego driven, not to show you guys (it may not seem that way) but to show myself. And I'm never really satisfied with myself. Always have the feeling I could do better.

Pornkings 02-12-2004 11:29 PM

Until I successful obtain everyone?s traffic from gfy I feel like I have failed in being successful.
But this is my problem I always set my goals extremely high . It?s what keeps me motivated.

I feel I have achieved many things but it's a never ending list of goals.

JulianSosa 02-12-2004 11:30 PM

AaronM 02-13-2004 12:17 AM

I am in negotiations to buy out an Adult Internet company including all of their exclusive content and current sites. This is a major cash outlay for me.

Making money in not hard.....Acquiring a company and restructuring it from the ground up will be a real challenge for me though. If I can pull this off THEN I may have a different answer for you.

Honestly.....I am very nervous about it but if I did not think I could do it, I would not waste the resources. The risks are too high for me to fuck around with this.

If you don?t take calculated risks then you will never get ahead of the game.

AWW - Kevin 02-13-2004 12:19 AM

YES !

the way i measure success maybe different to others.
1. having/making enough $$ not to envy others and to be able to afford the things "I" like !
2. having and maintaining a good relationship with my wife and our whole family !
3. being down to earth and not looking down on people who have or make less money !

johnbosh 02-13-2004 12:20 AM

I live a happy and healthy life and can do almost anything I want

There is no such thing as success. Success is nothing more than a state of mind which impairs most from reaching their true potential.

Harlot Cash 02-13-2004 12:49 AM

It's always a fine balance between work, play and relationships.

Too much priority on one, and the others suffer.

To me, success, is setting goals within all three and achieving those goals.

GiantGnome 02-13-2004 01:23 AM

Successful as far as family is concerned? Yes.

Successful as a person? Yes

Successful buissness wise? FUCK NO!

Winners

Losers

I think I'm successful in my life so far, but I have plans on being bigger and making a lot more money than I am at the moment, but I'm further in life than I thought I would be already!

Toni 02-13-2004 02:08 AM

It always depends on the goals a person sets, this is also the main reason why many people are not successful because they have no goals, they work from day to day without knowing exactly what they want. In my personal life I consider myself successful because I have a great wife, son and rest of my family and I try to be nice and to respect everybody around me and who I work with. In my business life I don?t consider myself successful yet because I have set big goals and I?m working very hard to reach them and I believe that I will reach them in a couple years and then I will consider myself successful.
