Even many (all ??) of the biggies who can the crap out of mail traffic here do it in one way or the other.

Front door or back door, they built their programs that way.

Whether they will admit to it or not.

Responsible mailing by responsible mailers to responsible programs = good business

I did email spamming back in '97 and '98... there wasn't nearly as much of it back then and the profits were great.

yeah, the only think i forgot is that you have to find also a spam friendly host.
And ...to be honest, I really don't know if there's something I am missing.
I don't know how much investment is required though...
and I also doubt I would be willing to spam by myself...
