How the fuck can you afford $35 payouts?

I'm not new to the industry, but taking the next step and moving towards sponsering.. for you veterans out there someone give me a clue how can you afford to pay out more than you're making? Most sites charge the surfer $29.95, am I right? I know you can turn those customers into additional customers across other sites but I figure unless you either

a) get 100% of those customers to rebill for the next 3 months so you can make a half decent return AND pay your affiliates

b) get at least 100% of those customers to signup to other sites through your newly collected mailing list

c) shave

Someone school me here with some knowledge, fuck the 'secrets' I just want at least a vague understanding of how this is remotely possible..

If I paid $20 signup and reoccuring would anyone even bother promoting long as the conversions were under 1:400?
:helpme

:helpme

well
what counts is the money made

when i sent 100k clicks to a $35 program and make X dollars
and i can send 100k click to a $20 program which converts better and makes me $X*2

why should i want to promote a 35 buck program

you know what i mean :)

There are a hell of a lot of quality sites out there that pay 50-65% recurring and focus on keeping the members happy and recurring rather than focusing on upselling the shit out them.

In my (limited) experience you wind up getting $35-$40 per member this way, so throw in _some_ upsells/cross sells and probably some shaving :feels-hot and you have a nice little piece of business.

you cant look at the biggest out there.

All those models will change soon

What are cross sales exactly? I can handle the upsells :Graucho

Those paying $35 charge $40/month ... so, cross sales, upsells, dialers, online checks, mailing lists/newsletters, recurring ...
Many people who just start paying affiliates prefer partnership ...

For the record: I checked those... they were not pre-checked.

lol yeah, it's going to get harder and harder for sponsors to pay out $35, they're going to have to resort to other things. they may just shave instead of lowering payouts. :Graucho

sixxxth_sense 02-26-2004 09:32 AM

yup, shaving!
