The real threat are people who may wbna to cause harm for ideology purposes i.e. terrorists....they are the people who are completely delusional and feel as though they have a real relationship....if the fulfillment of this relationship is not enough to see the person on TV, a live performance, fan club membership, they will seek out other means of fulfillment meaning real life contact....these people are not in touch with reality and can present a very real danger to the public figure.

Hiring some gym rat all juiced up will not protect you from this kind of threat...the threat they are trained for is the threat of the celeb being inconvenienced by being famous...autographs...paparazzi....heavy crowds etc.

That guy is not trained to look through fan mail and assess whether or not he person is a whack job.....he is not trained to see the person who is perfectly still and completely eye locked on the person. He is there to look big that it.....

I worked for what is considered to be the most elite personal protection firm in the country...I have worked with some of the most high profile names in the world....this was my job for years....I trained agents...I recruited agents from select military groups....
