filing taxes electronically?
Is there a program out there that lets one file their tax return electronically that doesnt ask for last years gross adjusted income.
Im ready to smash my hubbys head in over this stupid shit... our electronic return keeps getting denied because it wont accept the ammended gross adjusted income from last year. I called the accountant that did our taxes last year and she said this should hold no barrior on us filing..but it is WTF, I'm fed up with the fed gov:321GFY any suggestions would highly help.. and sending it in by mail for an 8 week wait is not an option anymore..for hubby spent before he got..idiot! |

i volunteer for the IRS and we use TaxWise. I've submitted several people's returns without using their last year's AGI.

It's probably doing that because it's using last years agi along with your ssn, as your "electronic" signature. If your agi doesn't match up from last year, it will kick your return. If worse comes to worse, you might be able to just print the sig page and mail it in, in lieu of the electronic sig. Usually that does the trick.
Also, there are lots of programs that let you efile for free. I've done about 30 tax returns in the last month so I'm ready to puke from it, but take a look at this page: http://www.irs.gov/efile/ Be sure to check out this page, also. I think it has most of the free file programs: http://www.irs.gov/app/freeFile/jsp/index.jsp? |
I filed electronically, and got my return in 2 weeks. Nice! Yes it is only a "verification of who is filing" procedure.
