Console Killers Got Ya Down? NEW from Max Cash

As you know, more and more surfers have been using console killers, some of which are found in popular toolbars. Additionally, the next release of IE will contain a pop up blocker that most people will set to "ON" the first time the browser encounters a console. You may not realize it, but you are probably already losing a percentage of your revenue due to these blockers. When that next version of IE is released, you can expect a dramatic decline in your exit revenue. At Max Cash, we have developed a solution that will beat the majority of console killers already in place, as well as the one in the next release of IE, and this will allow you to regain your lost traffic and revenue.

the rest of the details can be found by clicking on the
Anti-Popup Killers link on the menu of Max Cash

Great Job Rich. There will always be a way around the defense the browsers and software makers put up to stop it.

Snake Doctor 03-03-2004 02:02 PM

Looks good, and it got past the google toolbar's popup blocker :thumbsup

Would you be willing to sell the code for that?
I love maxcash and all, but we need to give our affiliates credit on the exits.

slapass 03-03-2004 02:04 PM

nice stuff!

:thumbsup

Oracle Porn 03-03-2004 02:05 PM

smokey the queer already posted the script a few month back...search for it!

Adult Site Traffic 03-03-2004 02:19 PM

This makes me happy :)

Thanks .

dumbasses.

you think forcing shit upon someone who obviously doesn't want it is gonna make you any more money?

No, it'll just piss them off to the point where they close your shit and won't come back.

Hopefully someone will pass a law that bans this type of obviously unwanted bullshit.

Some people fail to understand this simple concept.

The Truth Hurts 03-03-2004 02:39 PM

besides, you can easily render the script (all it is is a bloated code assembly script) useless by disabling j ava s cript... which I do 99% of the time i'm surfing anyway.

That IS a logical point.

However
I've never met a surfer who said he liked pop ups, and never met a webmaster who used pop ups and didn't make sales from them.

Go figure.

I have not seen this stated as logically by anyone....
anywhere.......

thanks lenny2

The bottom line is...popups and consoles make money, forced or unforced.....[I have been using code since blockers arrived]
You make life miserable enough for the freeloaders, your conversions will improve....thats the way it is, and the way it will always be. Tease them with softcore and censored previews...annoy them with popups and sell them with the promise of no popups in an exclusive, protected members area.

Whoa, never heard THAT one before. : )

My point wasn't to bash MC (i made a lot of money off of them back back in the day, and have nothing but respect for MC), it was to bash the concept of forcing shit on people who obviously don't want it...
especially because many people in this biz tend to abuse these type of things.

MadCap 03-03-2004 03:05 PM

Sounds great rich Good shit!

Now can you get someone over thier at support to send me my login info as i emailed and asked for it 3 days ago.

pops-ups are good...fuck the sufer i'll do whatever it takes besides fucking with their 'puter(installing some bullshit) to get a sale..i'll check it out..i haven't sent ya'll traffic but was going thru my account couple days ago thinking damn i should start...

Sylver7 03-03-2004 03:12 PM

The fact is that consoles make webmasters money regardless of the surfers opinions of them. This is the internet, not a mall for window shoppers.

exactly.
I like Maxcash, but I don't like consoles...and put yourself in surfers shoes...Would you like a site which is popping many consoles ?don't think so..sometimes there are so many of them that you can't see main payiste, just consoles.
I persoanlly turn off consoles when I am promoting sites, unles there is no more than ONE exit console...
just my :2 cents:

fuzebox 03-03-2004 03:31 PM

Doesn't affect Mozilla :glugglug

btw the examples don't get around the popup blocker in the beta of sp2 for xp that i am using.

As much as I understand your point, when a popup passe through my google toolbar, it definitly has my attention. If 1 popup goes through out of 100, I don't think it's going to piss someone off that much. If everyone starts beating popup blockers, that may become another story.

Meloman 03-03-2004 03:53 PM

Right on Maxcash. Great concept. I'll start using it for sure.

Bottom line is consoles make money period. You guys can bitch and moan all you want about them and it's not going to change a thing.

Mike Fold and Lenny2 hit the nail on the head. You're right, there's not a single surfer out there that likes pop ups, BUT surfers still click on them and make us money.

As far as I'm concerned surfers should go through popups and softcore tours till they realize that the only real porn they'll find is in a paysites members area just like MikeFold points out.

MikeFold 03-03-2004 04:06 PM

If popups are so ineffective and/or obtrusive, why do all the affiliate and member sites use them?

Good shit Rich. One of the things I like about MC is that it has an old school attitude and doesn't buy into this surfer friendly bullshit.

... but you could have done a better job with the pop up blocker.

fully agreed.

I use the Google blocker because it works and prevents 99.9% of that shit from popping on me, but this is a perfect example... clearly there is a reason I use the blocker... if people keep making shit to defeat that and force consoles on me, I will (as will the rest of the web surfing population) eventually just disable the shit altogether and not worry about using a blocker.

Which really kind of sucks because it takes away the functionality of alot of legit sites that use pop screens for various things.

but go ahead.... keep pushing unwanted crap on people that specifically DON'T want it.... I'm sure it will lead to a brighter future.

not.

Amputate Your Head 03-03-2004 04:25 PM

this is no different than the annoying fucking telemarketer that calls during dinner, and after bitching at him and his boss and demanding to be removed from their fucking call list, the son of a bitch calls again the next fucking day....

yeah, that's gonna make me suddenly change my mind and decide to buy his crap. I don't think so.

What are you talking about? Maxcash built their rep on being surfer and webmaster friendly. They were one of the few sponsors that were more interested in offering quality and top notch service for good long term income instead of forcing unwanted b.s like over-riding a surfer's browser settings for an extra buck.

How about some good exclusive movie sites with loads of content and sick rebills instead? I know you guys invented pay-per-sign up, but come on, it's not gonna be around for ever.

btw, Why do people, like the handful that responded to this thread, hate surfers so much? Where do you think sign ups come from? Traffic and sign ups aren't just numbers, they are surfers and without them, we would have nothing:)

No one hates surfers, we just hate freeloaders. MC has never espoused this "surfer friendly" business (something introduced by TGPs and LLs that want bookmarkers), where you give away a minute and a half of hardcore movies (with cumshot) on a clean page with 2 ads. Once the surfer has signed up, then yes, treat them like royalty (unless your aim is upsells) - otherwise, jerk them around a little, make their surfing experience unpleasant, don't give them pink for free, tease them with hot softcore - and watch your sales per total traffic soar. I can't believe that so many webmasters are brainwashed into thinking that we should just give it all away for free.

pimplink 03-03-2004 05:26 PM

we are just talking about a pop up console free tour here.
whats wrong with a surfer looking at that and deciding if he wants to continue on, either to sign up, or return to the site that sent hem there, unimpeded? If you need consoles to keep the payouts high, give us an option, with a lower payout and no consoles.

I Never said they should be giving things out for free. They run paysites.
Keeping tours softcore and not giving away free pink is one thing, but making their surfing experience unpleasant, I don't know about that. Many webmasters are brainwashed into thinking that the only way to make a buck is to treat the surfer like shit until he signs up. Why would a surfer whip out his/her credit card after being jerked around? Would you? This is why I think these xxx toolbars, pop up hells, and overriding browser settings will hurt in the long run. (I'm not talking about maxcash here, just the adult net in general)
Put yourself in their shoes 'cause I'm sure you were or still are a surfer. I have google's pop up blocker installed and running on my pc, if I go to a site that bypasses it and hits me with a pop up, it's gonna piss me off. And if that site is an adult site, I might close it 'cause there are many many others. If that site installs a xxx toolbar then I'll def close it and prolly wont sign up. What I'm getting at here is that trust is sometimes more important than anything else when it comes to people giving you their credit card info.

Actually this is a LOT different than that because in this scenario YOU went to this person's website as opposed to them annoying you at home unsolicited.

Shemp has a good point also, some webmasters hate consoles so give them the option to not have them on the tours and take a lower payout for their sales.

Yea i'm not sure which side of the fence I'm on. I do think it will help increase sales, but at the same time it does piss people off, and we do need to patrol ourselves or someone else will:helpme

It increases sales, at least on my sites, I took pop-unders off my sites and sales have way down. I'm getting a real bad Tude as far as surfers go, and I've been doing this for a few years.
