NFL Has Gone MAD
Maurice Clarett was granted eligibility and that led the flood gates to High School seniors. Think I counted 7 below. Now I'm a soccer fan and they get kids as young as 16 or so to try out to be a pro, but playing in the NFL is a whole different ballgame. Think this could hurt the NFL if any of these kids makes a roster, althought I doubt they will.

Every other major sport in the US allows kids right out of high school.
|
the dilema is that most of these kids would not succeed in college to get a degree and a job, so they use their athletic skills to succeed. the fact that theres millions of dollars waiting for them at the age of 18 forces them to take a material route.
hell if i had millions dangling in front of me at 18 i would've taken it without even thinking twice about college |
hell i'm all for the $$ as well, thing is and you mentioned it once they declare and sign a agent they can't go to college and play football and really hurting their chances of ever playing in the NFL because scouts won't see them.
i also think the NFL is the one sport where the leap is HUGE from H.S. or College to the pro level. |

making the jump to high school to the pros in football won't happen that much..if you're a star you can get paid at college..they'll spend some chesse to get in their program..the NFL is way faster then they'll imagine not too many well i doubt any GM would risk drating a high school kid for football....baseall,basketball is way different |
They reall should think about going to college.
|
I can't imagine how any player could go from HS to Pro in football. The whole game changes, I don't see how any HS kid would be able to step foot on a pro field and not get his head ripped off.

Some of those kids are just too fucking good at their sport. They deserve it just like LeBron James.
