Directnic Domain name bullshit

Now what the fuck is this? I get two emails regarding updating my whois information on one of my domains, just because I had some bogus crap in the contact information... ok I say, let's update it then.

About three weeks later (today), I get this email that the domain name was deleted due to incorrect whois info...

WTF Directnic, what's that shit all about.

I'm moving all my domains to powerpipe, fuck this shit. :321GFY

A lot of people here tout Directnic's flawlessness. I've encountered several flaws. Just because you never hit any snags doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Support is very responsive, and that's great, but I'd rather not have problems to begin with. I have no idea whether Eq's prob was his or Directnic's, but it's ridiculous to dismiss the possibility of an error just because you've never encountered one.

That said, I'd take this up with Directnic, and if it's not resolved to your satisfaction, then bring it to a board.

It shouldn't have come to this situation in the first place.

Now I need to waste time to resolve this issue, and it pisses me off.

I use registerfly!
So far so good :thumbsup *3x knock on wood*

Having correct information is not a DirectNIC rule, but rather a ICANN rule. Eventually every registrar and reseller will have to do the same thing.

Arg - drop me an e-mail, I am curious about these flaws. I will pay you $50 for each one you can list for me. DirectNIC is not perfect, but we strive to be so.

Lol that will teach you not to use fake whois info in future.

ive also started using registerfly as they are cheaper and they auto lock domains for you which is well handy, you have all the control like directnic also. They seem good and you got peice of mind from domain jacking ect and 5 usd cheaper :)

I have more than 50 domains with DirectNic. Zero problems.

Blaming them for your fuck up is bad, m'kay??

mardigras 03-07-2004 04:21 PM

I find Directnic to be very worth their prices.
