Not really. The value of silver is about $6 an ounce. So maybe a dollar for your half dollar

I have several wheat pennies, a few buffalo nickels, a liberty-head nickel and a few Canadian coins that I collected over the years. I like to get some coins from pre-1900s.

There is one stamp that is worth like $500,000 or something.

Was the first one the u.s. postal service ever printed i believe, i can't remember the story behind it.

But i keep the stamp book in a safety deposit box now, im sure its worth about $15,000 - $30,000 at auction to collectors but i'm going to pass it on to my kids when i have kids.

Best gifts are gifts with meanings.
