I'm converting ALL simpsons episodes to SVCD from mpg. Crazy project?
 

That's couple hundred episodes of The Simpsons!

Geez, they are in avi originally...

#1. I substract the soundtrack to .wav
#2. I convert to .mpg
#3. I burn to svcd

Should take me 14 days or so. Two episodes on a media.

Step #2 takes at least 1.2 hour per conversion. :(

Now... This will for sure rank me as a *first* class Simpsons freak!

Yea, I know... Crazy project. I could simply buy the dvs's. But there's not "all" episodes available. Dunno why.

Wow, i love the simpsons to, but i just buy the dvd's.

does seem like alot of work when you can jsut buy the DVD's...

Oh well, I could only find the first 2-4 seasons on the net before I started this crazy project.

Anyone quickly hand me an online store where I can buy the lot?

Isn't there a DVD boxed set? Guess so. Go buy those. Saved you a few hundred hours... (and far better quality)

You do realize that the quality will be exactly the same. If I were you I would just rent the DVDs and convert those to DIVX. SVCD arent very good quality, neither are VCD's.

I forget the URL but there's an FTP site tha already has all the Simpsons, and Futurama shows converted to mpeg. Do a search on some underground sites, I'm sure you'll find something.
No need to re-invent the wheel.
