I can't believe some companies are paying 18 dollars/click
for some hosting related ad words.


These ad agencies are definately making the dough.

if your clicks are worth more, why wouldn't you? i pay more than 0.25c for some keywords on adwords

18 cents would work if you convert < 1:150 with a sponsor paying $30/35

definitly state that the need to whip out their cc as 18 cents per "blind" click isn't pretty

This is normal for hosting companies. I know of a few hosts willing to pay upwards of $500-$1000 for a new customer and based on those per click rates some are willing to pay even more :)

But then again, some industries have thousand dollar products (or services that will make them alot in the long run) where their profit margin is alot greater.

A satisfied and successful customer can stay with a hosting company for years, and if he has a lot of traffic, i.e. high charges for bandwidth, etc, you can imagine it may be worth paying that amount, anyway it looks insane for me as well, but since I'm not in the hosting biz, it may be normal after all. :)

before when i was thinking about opening an online casino, i checked overture for bids.. they were upwards of $40/click
