DomainSpy is launched
 

DomainSpy maintains lists of the freshest upcoming and already expired domains around. It only harvests coms and nets under 15 characters in length at this time, so as to not oversaturate the lists with useless crap, and a quick WHOIS service is also available along with the lists for convenience.

We think it's a decent service, but we are of course looking to improve it with time by adding more domain sources. This is particularly so for the pending delete list, which is not very big. The already expired domains list is quite good already though.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Do you have any ideas for how to make this a better service? Here are some improvements I have been considering:

- Only include domains which contains at least one correctly spelled word from the English dictionary (this would rule out some decent domains though).
- Only include domains which either are very short, or contains a word related to this industry (porn, sex, feet, mature, adult, erotic, et cetera).

I'd like to see one of these sites show link pop and some other things with the expired and pending delete domains.

Good idea indeed. Would it be ok if it only got the link counts from one of the top SEs, instead of several? And should we exclude domains which have no links?

Would be nice if .com was seperated from .net in to seperate lists. Not a big deal but just something I like when looking at such lists.

Very nice. One suggestion I would make is to further increase the information around the deleting domains. Currently it just shows the list of what is deleting, and not much else. This is great service as is, because there are many one word domains, etc in there anyway, but the mroe information the better. Keep up the great work.

I just spoke to rep monkey, and he says when he wakes up tommorow he plans to code it to list linkpop on all major SE's, yahoo listed, dmoz listed, etc. Should be good :)

Now it is combined into one list and is sortable by name, TLD, character length, and type (pending-delete, available).

Also, domains that contains more than one apostrophe or 10 characters are not included any more.
