The Pledge Of Allegiance Case
goes before the Supreme Court Today.
The issue is to decide if the reference to God violates church and state. I say have 2 pledges...one generic makes no references to any deities..the other a fill in the blank deity version..th esimple fact is freedom of speech even protects religious speech ;) So the teachers should push the secular version, but if a couple of children feel they need to say the other version they should have that option. NOTE I said the teachers should push and teach the secular version. |
yeah good idea
i dont think religion should play in any part in goverment/political or patriot affairs but thats my opinion - other ppl are entitled to theirs so yeah 2 versions makes good sense |

For instance the whole prayer at football games issue...it has been decided time and time again but I guarantee you, you can go to any football game in West Texas and you'll find a kid praying over the loud speaker at the first of the game. My whole answer to that situation was...if the Christians want a prayer before football games then they had to share that with other denonimations and religions...once it got to the muslims or wiccans you'd see how quickly they'd give up that prayer...LOL |
