I say basically because I was put on "Administrative Leave" for them to investigate, but we all know what that fucking means.

The manager said that another employee (only 3 know I work in adult) reported that I was surfing porn on the net. I had to explain to my boss i work in adult, so any sites he sees will be affiliate sites where I am checking my stats.

But again, not information for the company you work for to have.

Anyway, I was on the verge of being able to quit my FT job, because I am doing OK in adult, but not good enough to replace ,my income there. You know how that goes, about 2 more months before I'll know if it's ok to support myself online. Now I am fucked unless something good comes along fast.

It will probably be better to put in my two weeks instead of waiting to get fired.

I don't know if I should put in my 2 weeks, speak with a lawyer or ask around about jobs on here.

kind of like you were kicked out of the 'nest'...sounds like it is time to just kick it up a gear and do it full time then. take those 8 hours (or whatever) you are slaving for 'The Man' and put them to use for yourself. had you not admitted you were doing it on the side and did the standard 'denial' bit, you might have been able to collect unemployment too! ;)

2 things that came to mind mind:

1. I'd rather tell your boss that you surf porn than work in porn.
The first one is more acceptable.
2. By saying that you are angry because you got fired with your job, so by actually admitting that you had a day job and furthermore by saying that you don't earn enough in adult, you don't portrait yourself as a serious trafic broker...
I think the other traffic brokers like Choker or Turboface don't have dayjobs.

And by the way, for anyone who wants to come in and make some offhand statement about my traffic or my services or what I can do for my customers online -

The fact is that in my personal finances and the amount of school debt I have, it made financial sense to keep a full time job in conjunction with this one.

So this situation in no way implies anything bad about my business or the way I conduct business.

In fact, my business is growing very rapidly anyway, so this will give me the opportunity to work harder at it.

Sure Choker, Turboface etc. all are full time but they had to start somewhere too, and my traffic business is building rapidly, soon I am launching a whole suite of sites that will serve as effective tools for today's adult webmaster.

Case in point, just this morning I came home to a client irate because I was gone all night and was'nt able to reply. With this new development, that won't happen again. :)

The best answer when getting caught surfing porn sites is to say:

My friend called me up and said that someone we grew up with was found on a porn site and he gave me the link. I just had to check and see if that was the same person. I didn't know what kind of site it was. I'm still shocked that this person was on that page!

What you could probably do now is find the local ACLU chapter and work with them to develop a plan of action to make porn working addiction and official disease. They will sue your boss and get you your job back with a raise, special parking spot, special bathroom and two mandated hourly breaks during the day to surf your porn stats.

Not saying that you are stupid, since we've all had moments we'd like to forget. But a good rule of thumb is to keep your fuckups under your hat.

I think he was just worried and wanted advice and to vent a little, however, I do agree with your last statment.
