I have been taking care of my nieces for 11 years now in one way or another.

They have lived with me full time on and off during that time, but I have always had to offer some sort of financial support regardless.

Their father is not only a deadbeat dad when it comes to money, the fucker doesn't even call on holidays, or birthdays etc.

My oldest niece graduates this year and if he even shows up for the event I should pack my bags because Christ shoudl be returning soon after.

I love my nieces, but this has over the years not just put a financial strain on me...that's the least of my worries...but has altered my lifestyle to the point where I have had to make choices in their best interest instead of mine while this guy continues to do as he pleases.

They are lucky to have you.. :thumbsup

deadbeat dads suck.. although when my oldest sons father killed himself.. he left the boy a nice chunk of change.. just never gave him anything while he was alive.. never even seen the boy..fuck him all the way to HELL :glugglug

agreed. it's strange how some things work out ..it's hard to grow up without a Dad financially and emotionally, but it's way better than knowing your dad who abuses you or something. I imagine there are a lot of kids out there that wish their dad would run away and leave them.

if I had a kid with someone who I suspected to have the potential for abuse or life endangering neglect I'd be in another country so fast ..

I think women need to take some responsibility for spreading their legs. It's not that hard to use protection, or just use some discrection regarding who you sleep with. :2 cents:

My philosophy is don't count on anyone else to do shit for you. If you're the guy .. use a condom.. if you're the girl go on the pill or use foam or something.

But neither one can pass fault to the other. Take responsibility for your own actions and worry about yourself.

Hey I said Deadbeat Dads not Dads...

I see all 13 of my sons and daughters on a regular basis. It's just having 9 ex wives that makes it difficult.

Deadbeats always want credit for some shit they're supposed to do. They'll brag about stuff a normal man just does . They'll say something like, "Yeah, well, I take care of my kids." You're supposed to, you dumb motherfucker. "I ain't never been to jail." Whaddya want? A hahahahahaha? You're not supposed to go to jail, you low-expectation-having motherfucker!'

I pay support, but i'm afraid being involved with my daughter means being involved with her mother..

Not healthy, not for anyone involved..

So it's a pain I get my mom to pick her up etc.. Basicly I understand some of the claimed positions of the deadbeat dads..

Case by case i think.. but buy the baby some milk!!
