Cardservice International users screwed?

They may have been a thread about this yesterday evening but I'm wondering who will pick up the slack now?

Also any big players using cardservice?

The merchant banks and cc processing gateways are dropping like flies. How long before they are stop processing for adult and what will we do then :(

Is there any merchant banks accepting adult clients now and if so who are they?

We represent several offshore banks who will process adult, and there are a couple US banks that will take new accounts if you have the volume.

100k minimum per month and you can get one

You can then simply just sell DVDs. That is my fastest growing part of SoBeGirl biz today. And I am once again giving webmasters what they need..

Yesterday I brought on line the new SoBeGirl FTP server. It is a raid 5 box with over 600 gig of MPG2 video ready for download. MPG2 video is 740x480 screen size and running at about 6000 -8000 kb/sec. What this means is that they are high quality files good enough to be made into DVDs or beamed via satellite.

This the first time any content provider has offered this level of service. For those of you that don't know what to do with MPG2 files.. no problem. YOu can order a custom built DVD with the content sets from sobegirl that you like on it...

Right now as introductory offers you can get a custom built DVD with 4 sobegirl shoots on them for just $100.00 each.

You can get FTP access to download the MPG2 files for any sobegirl shoot you like for just $25.00 a set.

It does seem that merchant processors are trying to push us out of biz. You will probably also find that scrubbing is getting more intense leaving you with less money. Start selling SoBeGirl DVDs today and pick up what your are losing in signups.

I look forward to working with you.. SEE SIG FOR MORE DETAILS

taboo_dude 05-28-2004 07:32 AM

it is getting harder and harder for the small guy even to enter the market. This can be good and bad depending on who you are.

Reduces market saturation but also limits the choices.

MakeMeGrrrrowl 05-28-2004 07:35 AM

FUnny thing...when you call CSI they tell you that's not their plan and they don't know anything about it. Then they will tell you the day they are closing your account that you need to find another service.

I'm so fucking pissed with card services right now. I've applied with like 7 other merchant account people so far...waiting to hear back.

mmaisonet 05-28-2004 07:45 AM

For the record, CSI is a subsidiary of First Data which announced their plans to stop processing for adult content back in December of last year. It would make sense for Card Service to do the same since their parent company was getting out of the business.

If you guys have questions or need help with processing, you can reach me on ICQ. Been dong this for a while now.

Read sig below.

Its time to think and go outside the box people. There are ways. Just have to be very creative now.

Rexk 05-28-2004 07:55 AM

They screwed us as well....so IVe been scrambling around for the last week filling out applications and faxing in financial data. If thats their decision fine...I respect that....but what pissed me off is that they are holding a rather sizable chargeback reserve (10K)...and our average chargeback monthly volume is maybe $200. Do you think they will pay interest on this money?....ha ha

just a punk 05-28-2004 07:57 AM

Here is what the press says: The credit card processor will phase out its adult clientele within an unspecified period of time, a representative for First Data told XBiz. However, Cardservice spokesperson Samantha Smith has been quoted as saying that the phase-out will happen within the next six to eight weeks. Full Story

We're ready to pick up some of the slack. Come and get yourself the "un" merchant account... the one you'll never lose sleep over. 123Bill isn't for everybody, but it does provide consumers with instant access to your product or service while guaranteeing your payout.

Cheers,

Brad

That's a unique service and one I am sure others will be following in the coming years. The only downside is the number of merchants participating. Unless your paypal and have a bankroll the size of a house, it is hard to drive mass appeal to a service like this. However if the merchant banks keep dropping us the peeps out their demanding their smut will have no choice in the matter.

We looked at prepaid mastercards for some of our clients but the company we looked at wasn't 100% ready to roll out yet. Good commissions, the card could be reloaded at all the POS outlets, you can recharge your cell phone, use it as a paycheck card etc.
Also you can reload it via online banks.

Unfortunately they are not ready to roll just yet.

LOL. You must try to sell your content in church, at Publix and inside of McDonalds. Quit selling and buy yourself a clue.

SoBeGirl Video 05-28-2004 11:07 AM

Ok, if you don't get it then look at it this way. Any bank left is going to start to scrub the shit out of every transaction and it will push a lot of you out of biz as your profit margins drop. Do you think a bank would drop and entire industry if it were profitable? The answer is no. It seems that even the banks are not making money off a ?recurring subscription? model anymore. And when that happens they will just cut you off or make is so expensive to stay around you cannot do it and have to close shop. Well you can sell DVD and make up the difference that is being lost by not getting as many "subscription memberships".

See the DVD is a physical medium thus, a less risky transaction as far as the banks look at them. You can even use a different kind of merchant account when you sell a "physical" item. That is way I contributed this thread. I put forth the idea of selling DVDs as a means to make up the money that you are losing as it gets harder and harder to make money with recurring subscription sales.

The jealous SoBeGirl haters always talk shit about me spamming but this is not spam. It is a solution. That is what you need ? Solutions and I deliver them to you. With a FTP server full of MPG2 files and my custom build your own DVD program.

What are you going to do? Bitching and crying about it does nothing unless you are simply a sigwhore. Start selling DVDs. Sell them inexpensively and creatively and you will make money.

Taboo

You're misunderstanding what we do. There's no prepayment with 123bill, it's an instant virtual credit account. Surfers get instant access to your product, even if they're new to using 123bill. Billing and collections is our problem, you get a guaranteed payout. If you want to talk about it... give me a call!

Cheers,

Brad

No matter how you look at it paysite recurring subscription sales have been, are, and continue to go down hill. I would not be surprised if in the future it goes away completly. The surfers don't like it, the banks don't like it, you guess what happens next. Just sell some DVDs too. It is a good alternative. Webmaster program owners can offer this upsell to the affiliates. It can be worked a lot of creative ways. It will help.

You can get a custom build SoBeGirl DVD with just the shoots you want on it for only $100.00.

On June 27 CSI stops doing high risk processing. If you have your own CSI account they have probably notified you. CSI is owned by First Data Corp, they are abandoning of adult, not just for CSI but for all of FDC. If you use Ibill, they use FDC and they may not have dropped the bomb on you yet.

We became proactive and found a way to get new merchant accounts, one in the US and one in Europe. If you qualify and get your paperwork together in timely manner you may still survive without a disruption in sales.

The only people who will qualify have been in business for at least one year in Europe, two in the US, have Chargeback rates below 0.80% and do at least $100,000 a month in sales. I can also help Canadians in the same situation.

There is a real time crunch for the US accounts to take action before the bank closes that option off.

If you want the infomation email me and I will put you in touch with the proper people, the same people that had us up and running in less than 2 weeks.

Kimmykim 05-28-2004 01:06 PM

Last I heard, IBill was not totally FDR reliant, so that's a separate situation entirely. IPSPs using FDR aren't using CSI either, I believe.

If you have a subscription based business you'd be wise to add as many payment options as you can, and quickly. Even if they aren't going to generate a huge portion of your revenue, better to have it than not. Recurring phone billing, alternate payment methods, etc are more than just a good idea.

Personally I can't wait til SoBe ships a DVD to someone and the Feds come knocking at his door with an arrest warrant. Most of the people around here haven't been in the business long enough to believe it will happen, but it has, to the video people, you know any of them from the major studios, ask them about the Meese Commission the next time you're having lunch or a cocktail...

Thanks for thinking of me Kimmy but I am aware of what the problems with shipping DVDs are. First of all, anyone who ever got busted was shipping what is considered to be "obscene" material and they were shipping using US Postal service. You can look up what that is. No one ever got busted for shipping your traditional boy girl hard core porn using a private shipping company such as FedEx.

Second, there is a list of counties you cannot ship obscene material to.. And remember, SoBeGirl does not produce/sell obscene material. I can give you the list when you order your DVDs.

If you want no risk at all, then get out of the adult biz. If you want to do it don't sell obscene material.

NETbilling 05-28-2004 01:46 PM

Hi All,

It is a PR move on the part of First Data. They are public. 147 merchants total are on the list. If so, they recevied a letter. We are already in the process of placing many of them elsewhere for merchant aaccounts to use with Netbilling. Let me know if anybody needs help.

Thanks, Mitch
