Is anyone still on Dial UP?
Or does everyone have DSL or Cable network at home?
Does dial up still Exsist. ( Excuse my spelling, took my sleeping pill about 15 minutes ago so I'm not all here.) Damn, I still remember those 14.4 modems when I used to dial out on my 386 computer with 4 Mega rams. :ak47: |
i actually know of only 1 webmaster here who has dialup.. but thats not for me to say who
I am on a pretty fast DSL at home, but I am so spoiled at the office, we have 3 T3's and I don't know how people can do it.

We have DSL at home. But I am looking to go to my father's house at the end of June and I'm taking my laptop...and he only has dial up. I am not looking forward to it, but gotta be able to check on things. And he lives so far out that there aren't any hotels with highspeed around. Its gonna suck!
I just upgraded from 14.4k to 28k:Graucho

Dial Up for webmasters?? Maybe in Turkey or Iraq
i'm on cable, but i do know some webmasters are still on dial-up..cable and dsl are still not available in all areas and some webmasters live in rural communities and just don't have the high speed option available to them
after leaving LA I find almost EVERYONE rural or small town uses dialup 100% of the time. Hence I use it for reviewing sites to see if the load times are bearable. AOL is huge for a reason....
(and yes its tough after a T3) there is some shit assed DSL service where I'm at now , the wireless network in boston is 150 percent faster than that is in washington st area (outside portland/ seattle) |
thank god for Optimum Online sickest @home cable service i've ever used no down time and my download speeds are that of a t1 about 1.5 mpbs my upload is shit 125 kbps lifes good lol
i got dialup at one of the offices and i dont mind it actually, like kevin said, it stops me from doing too much surfing and downloading music etc. i dont browse the boards as much cause it takes too long, therefore i get more work done! :)
only on the road if I cant get high speed
God no, can't imagine being on dial up still

I was on DSL, but now I'm back on dial-up :(
majority of webmasters and browsers are still on dialup... they always prefer fast loading aff sites, and stats...
http://www.echoecho.com/ look at stats on bottom right bar, you'll see |
Both DSL 2.5 and dialup...cause DSL sometimes goes down
Being on dial up is like torture.
Hell.. I got dialup - a couple of em!! :winkwink:
Can't say I used them yet - but that blind faith in any connection is troubling :-) What happened to backup when the cable gets screwed??? :glugglug |
We got the office upgraded to 1 meg a second yeaterday, awesome speed. :thumbsup
1996-2000: 28k dial-up
2000-2003: ADSL 256kbps 2003-2004: I have no idea what kind of connection I have, but it's 256kbps. They call "broadband" 256kbps here. |
