Why Disney would not release Fahrenheit 911

here's a clue
beside Disney being in FL where Jeb is boss
Euro Disney
23% of Euro Disney is owned by a rich Saudi

Michael Moore has claimed it's all about Florida. Jeb is the boss there and Disney gets some pretty juicy tax breaks from what I understand. Interestingly enough, the area around Disney is less Florida and more Disney owned. It's like Indian tribal land. Their own little police force and they own all the damn hotels. It's amazing.

Makes sense to me

Disney caters to people of all political sides.
It would be a mistake for them to release a movie that is absolutely only for 1 side.
Therefore, they released the rights to Miramax, which it owns anyways.
It's all common sense.
Oh, and by the way, the Disney corporation is based in California not Florida :2 cents:

So much hype, I hope Fahrenheit 9/11 lives up to it all when i go see it now

Nice assumption, but wrong. They wouldn't let Miramax distribute it, that was the problem. The brothers who own Miramax bought it on their own and it was distributed by another company, Disney is not involved.

In case you didn't know, they have a small theme park there that gets tax breaks from Jeb Bush.

Also, it doesn't help that a large chunk of Disney is owned by the Kingdom Holding Company. Look it up on your own.

Moore mentioned this on the O'Franken factor as well. When Euro Disney was going broke one of the Saudi princes wrote Disney a check for $310 million to save the park. They now own a significant percentage of it. If you think about it, it actually makes political sense that Disney wouldn't release it, and I'm sure Michael Moore is plenty happy because he got tons of free press due to Eisner's decision.

However, Eisner is now going to lose out on anywhere between $30-50 million in profit on the film, so he may end up getting his ass fired.

From a strictly business standpoint, Disney came out a loser...
it lost HUGE money on the movies "The Alamo" and "Around The World In 80 Days" (both will probably lose in the range of $75+ million EACH) and yet "Fahrenheit 911" made more in it's opening weekend then "The Alamo" did it's entire run

If I was a Disney shareholder, I'd be highly pissed.
