Does anyone EVER FOLLOW THROUGH with what they say they are going to do in this biz...

If you say you are going to do something, then do it...If you owe somebody money, PAY EM, and if you cant payem...dont AVOID them, COMMUNICATE! I mean who's not going to be willing to work with someone who communicates. I cant stand when people duck and dodge you, give excuses, be a man about it!



If you got a deadline, MEET IT...And if you cant you shouldnt have taken the job....

Basically Folks...Just Deliver...Your WORD is ALL you have in this biz...

I've been saying this in a similar way for years now on these boards. You see people coming on here all the time yelling that so-and-so didn't pay them or somebody didn't deliver work that has already been payed for etc. That's why sometimes the character and integrity that people put forth in their posts means a lot rather than nothing at all.

Sometimes it's all we have to go on to be able to judge the worth of someone's character and their trustworthiness to do business with. If someone is posting like an arrogant asshole all the time and you choose to do business with them anyway, you get what you deserve.

Choose business associates wisely, deal only with recommended reputable people who are solid, who have been around forever. For me I do most of my work myself for my own needs and for that of a few others, but if I were in the market for design and programming services my list of reliable trusted "no-shit" contacts would be pretty short.

plain and simple. work ethics.

and, i would add - if you find someone that does live up to their end of the bargain when it comes to getting work done, stick with that person. i know there are at least a few good guys out there.

Isn't that the whole issue in this biz? You practicly make deals with anonymous people, a "nick", a "handle". That's why i'm doing it on my own, it took me alot of time but i gave nobody the chanse to screw me, exept for the sponsors.

Anyone looking to do some serious business with serious people give me a call I am always up to REALLY get things done.

No, I'm right. There are people here who have been in business a long time who have never, repeat NEVER been accused of being a crook. N00bs have to prove themselves. If I had a dollar for every n00b that came on the boards and a week later was embroiled in some stupid drama over being ripped off or being accused of ripping someone else off I'd be adding an east wing to my mansion.

As a n00b, it's a challenge to get a foot in the door, but those who come on here with the right attitude will do well. One can tell a lot about someone's character from what they say in their posts and how they handle themselves with others, especially in business-related threads.

For newbs...the fact that it is just a board, and your only know by a nick and a board personality, definately has to come into account...How many people know anything about eachother here???

Theres an anonimity about this biz, that im having trouble getting past...i just CANNOT STAND it when you enter into a deal with someone, they cant hold up their end and they just dissapear...
